Abstract: Methods for treating the surface of a cured inner liner are disclosed. By use of these methods a treated, cured inner liner is produced which has a lower surface with increased adherability to other materials (e.g., adhesives). Treated, cured inner liners resulting from such methods as well as tires containing the treated inner liners.

Abstract: A tire having a transponder comprises: a crown which has a crown reinforcement with an axial end at each edge, joined at each of its axial ends to a bead, which has an inner end, by a sidewall; a carcass reinforcement which is formed of adjacent first wires and is anchored in each bead around a spiral formed by second wires; the transponder comprising a core defining a first axis, a first cover wire helically wound around the core and an electrical insulation device; and the first cover wire comprising at least two conductive wire elements galvanically connected to an electronic chip comprising a radiofrequency transceiver component. The thickness of the elastomer mixture separating the outer cover wire, which is located furthest outwards from the first axis, and the reinforcements is greater than 0.5 millimeter.

Abstract: A tire fitted with a transponder comprises: a crown comprising a crown reinforcement having an axial end at each of its edges, connected at each of its axial ends by a sidewall to a bead having an interior end; a carcass reinforcement layer formed of parallel reinforcers, which is anchored in each bead around a bead wire to form a main part and a turn-up; and the transponder comprising a dipole antenna consisting of a spring defined by a pitch P and a diameter D. A ratio between the pitch (P1) and the diameter (D1) for a loop of a first region of the spring is greater than 0.8, and the transponder is situated axially on the outside of an interior end of the bead and radially between the upper end of the bead wire and the axial end of the crown reinforcement.

Abstract: In a pneumatic tire, a tread portion includes a main groove extending in a circumferential direction, and land portions defined by the main groove. A center region is a region where a center land portion included in the land portions is closest to a tire equatorial plane. Shoulder regions are each a region between a position corresponding to 85% of a width of the belt layer in a lateral direction and an end portion of the belt layer in the lateral direction, and intermediate regions are each a region between the center region and a corresponding one of the shoulder regions. A relationship among a tire average thickness Gc in the center region, a tire average thickness Gsh in the shoulder regions, and a tire average thickness Gm in the intermediate regions is within a range of 1.05≤(Gc/Gsh)≤1.35 and satisfies Gc≥Gm>Gsh.

A closure-limiting configuration includes a number of tubular reinforcing elements (20) arrayed around the annular recess. Each tubular reinforcing element has a wall with a closed cross-section. The tubular reinforcing elements (20) are spaced around the annular recess such that deformation of a compressed region of the tire under a load causes a change in shape of the tubular reinforcing elements in the compressed region.

Abstract: A run-flat tire includes side reinforcing rubbers provided along tire width direction inner side surfaces of carcass side portions. A first inner liner is provided along a tire radial direction inner side surface of a carcass central portion and tire width direction inner side surfaces of the side reinforcing rubber. Both end portions of the first inner liner run along a contour in a cross-section along a tire rotational axis direction and are respectively formed further toward a tire radial direction outer side than tire radial direction inner side end portions of the side reinforcing rubber. A second inner liner extends along a surface, which is at a side opposite from the carcass central portion, of the first inner liner. Both end portions of the second inner liner are respectively formed further toward a tire radial direction inner side than the both end portions of the first inner liner, along a contour in a cross-section along the tire rotational axis direction.

Abstract: A run-flat tire includes reinforcing rubber in a sidewall, first bead filler rubber disposed toward the inside of a folded back portion of a carcass layer in a lateral direction, and second bead filler rubber disposed toward the outside of the folded back portion in the lateral direction. The reinforcing rubber has a thickness from a rim base line to a position within 38% to 68% of a tire cross-sectional height being from 90% to 100% of a maximum thickness of the reinforcing rubber. In a range from a position of a rim check line to a position being 38% of the tire cross-sectional height from the rim base line, a total thickness of the reinforcing rubber, the first bead filler rubber, and the second bead filler rubber is from 100% to 140% of the maximum thickness of the reinforcing rubber.
