    摘要: A collision warning system and method for a motor vehicle. A measuring device in the vehicle is provided for measuring the distance dx to a second vehicle traveling ahead, the distance signal being delivered to an evaluation device in the first vehicle. The evaluation device continuously calculates a deceleration asubject vehicle demand, which is applied by the vehicle after expiration of a driver reaction time Treaction in order that a remaining distance dxremaining to the second vehicle traveling ahead can be maintained. If asubject vehicle demand exceeds an instantaneous deceleration that can be achieved by an adaptive cruise control (“ACC”) system, a system limit warning is transmitted, prompting the vehicle driver to brake with additional appropriate force. If asubject vehicle demand exceeds an assumed vehicle deceleration that can be generated by braking on the part of the driver, a collision warning signal is transmitted independently of the ACC system.

    摘要: An apparatus (10) is provided for automatically actuating a brake system (28) in a work vehicle. The work vehicle has an engine (12) and a plurality of ground engaging wheels (24). At least one of the wheels (24) is driven by the engine (12) for propelling the vehicle. The brake system (28) is provided for opposing motion of at least one of the wheels. The apparatus (10) includes speed sensor (20) for sensing actual engine speed and responsively producing an actual engine speed signal. A controller (64) receives the actual engine speed signal and produces an error signal in response a difference between the actual and desired engine speed signals. The controller (64) further produce a control signal in response to the error signal. An actuator (76, 52, 58) is provided for receiving the control signal and controlling the braking force applied by the brake system (28) so as to reduce the error signal to zero.

    摘要: An improved fail-safe device for a motor vehicle speed governor of the type having a control system to switch a supply of power to an actuator ON and OFF for the control of the traveling speed of a motor vehicle to keep a constant speed. A latch is connected to power supply control circuit which controls the power supply to an actuator. The actuator actuates a throttle valve in an intake manifold of an engine for providing constant speed travel by turning the throttle valve ON and OFF in accordance with an output of the latch. The latch is set with a command signal and reset with a cancel signal or a reset signal. The resetting of the latch is executed if an absence of a watch dog signal is detected or a change of output generating status of the latch is detected under certain conditions. The state of the latch can be maintained if the conduction of a switching circuit for the actuator is detected regardless of a command signal to start up the constant speed traveling.

    摘要: A vehicle speed control system compares current vehicle speed against a target vehicle speed and automatically controls the position of the throttle valve of an engine in accordance with the difference therebetween for reducing the difference. A plurality of brake switches are provided. The system terminates the control of the position when at least one of the switches detects a depression of the brake pedal. If at least one of the switches does not detect the depression of the brake pedal when at least one of the switches detects it, an abnormality signal is generated for blocking commencement of the control of the position of the throttle valve. The abnormality signal is extinguished to enable the commencement of the control when all of the switches detect the depression of the brake pedal.

    摘要: A method of determining and using an acceleration correction in a acceleration based electronic speed control system for automobiles, the method being utilized by a microcontroller.An error correction pulse is selected by integrating (or summing) the differences between the desired acceleration and the actual vehicle acceleration. The integral is compared to a trigger window. The throttle position is controlled based on the value of the integral as compared to the window. This is keyed in providing smooth control. The integration action serves to filter transient acceleration errors to dampen throttle response to prevent throttle correction at a faster rate than the vehicle can respond thereby reducing over and under shoot of the throttle.

    摘要: A cruise control system for a vehicle having an internal combustion engine provided with a throttle valve operated by a diaphragm actuator irrespective of a depression of an accelerator pedal by an operator of the vehicle. The system is provided with a system for controlling a vehicle speed in a so-called "dead zone" where hunting usually occurs if a normal feedback control is executed. A time-interval integrating unit is provided for integrating the deviation of the acutal speed with respect to the target speed with a time interval as well as a weight factor, so that the integrated value corresponds to the change in the deviation in the dead zone. The integrated value is compared with a predetermined value corresponding to a change in the vehicle speed which is obtainable when the least significant bit in the control signal output to the actuator is changed. When the integrated value becomes equal to or higher than the predetermined value, the least significant bit is incremented or decremented, and thus speed control in the "dead zone" becomes possible.

    摘要: A vacuum actuator for actuating the throttle valve of a vehicle is driven by a surge tank via three valves which are actuated by their respective solenoids. These solenoids are energized by their respective driver circuits. The input signal applied to each solenoid is compared with the output signal delivered from the solenoid by a comparator. The comparators for the solenoids are incorporated in a microcomputer. If any one of the comparators indicates disagreement between its two input signals, and if this disagreement persists for a given period, then the microcomputer deenergizes the corresponding solenoid. A timer for measuring the duration of the disagreement is also incorporated in the microcomputer. For example, the invention can be employed in a velocity-sustaining device for a vehicle.
