Abstract: An accessory attachment system includes a base plate configured to be positioned within a vehicle cargo area that has a floor surface and at least one side wall extending upwardly relative to the floor surface. The base plate includes at least a first plate portion that is associated with the at least one side wall and a second plate portion that extends above the floor surface. An accessory comprises at least one accessory side wall including at least one first lock feature associated with the first plate portion, and a bottom wall including at least one second lock feature associated with the second plate portion. The accessory includes at least one handle that is movable between a locked position and an unlocked position, and wherein the at least one handle simultaneously unlocks the first lock feature and the second lock feature when moved to the unlocked position.

Abstract: A compact bendable cargo securement device for stabilizing unrestrained items in the bed or cargo area of a pick-up truck or storage area in a motorhome or recreational trailer is disclosed. It may also be used as a stabilizer doing woodwork and other jobs that require stability of the work platform. The device will conform to any surface and has the ability to wrap around objects—both regular and irregular shaped—and will hold them and keep them from shifting. As disclosed, the bendable cargo securement device is composed of a flexible tube loaded with filler material when used and deployed for securing objects. The flexible tube is preferably fabricated from rubber or any material allowing sufficient flexibility for the cargo securement device to wrap around items while having suitable strength to avoid puncture/destruction from deployment. Each end of the device requires a closure to contain the filler material.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for securing a container, in particular a Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) container to an aircraft consists of four tiedown adapters. The tiedown adapters are attached one each to a corner of the COTS container, typically at about the vertical midpoint of the edge. The tiedown adapters each comprises a base and a swivel. The base abuts the COTS container and has an integral cable fairlead. A cable is threaded through the fairleads so it wraps horizontally around the COTS container. The ends of the cable are then attached to each other using a turnbuckle, which is adjusted to put a predetermined tension in the cable. A shackle is attached to the swivel of each of the tiedown adapters and attached to an Adjustable Strap Assembly (ASA) or similar tiedown, which is attached to one of the load rings in the aircraft.

Abstract: A tie-down strap tensioner maintains a desired strap tension on cargo when placed on a truck flatbed or sea transport. Tie-down strap tensioners are made of rubbery-type resins that remain compressive in the amount of hand applied pressure on the strap assigned to a given cargo container shape. The tie-down strap tensioner has at least three different embodiments: one is for round or radius corners such barrels, one is for square corners such as boxes, and one is for either or both round and square corners. Each tie-down strap tensioner has an upper surface and a lower surface and the lower surface has extending members that are compressive in amount of tension applied to the strap thus accommodates the shape of the cargo container selected which remains expandable to its original shape.

Abstract: Embodiments provide shelves, bracket systems, automated picker robots, totes, and other features that may be used with delivery vehicle configurations that have automated cargo areas. A delivery vehicle may include a picking robot that selectively retrieves packages for delivery without requiring substantial human intervention for locating those packages. The cargo area of the delivery vehicle may further comprise a plurality of customizable shelving units that generate custom-sized shelves for packages. The shelves may include a plurality of individually movable shelf brackets having retaining members that pivot between an extended and retracted position to hold the package in place and to enable the picking robot to retrieve the package from the shelf. Another embodiment provides for a tote having a drive mechanism to hold letters so that a letter may be automatically retrieved from the cargo arear and provided at a delivery location.

Abstract: A locking device for locking a container on a loading surface. A locking head of the mechanism protrudes through a standardized reception opening and projects above the loading surface to engage and behind a wall of a corner fitting of the container to lock the container on the loading surface. A grooved bushing is disposed below the standardized reception opening. The locking device is guided in the grooved bushing so that it can be lowered to a first position below the loading surface. The locking device is supported on the grooved bushing, protruding upwards beyond the loading surface, in a second position. A securing ring holds the locking device below the loading surface in a mounting opening in the first position. The locking device has a (semi-) automatic locking mechanism in a cylindrical housing. The cylindrical housing is guided through the grooved bushing, the mounting opening and the securing ring.
