摘要： A wheel set attachment is used in combination with floor maintenance equipment, such as buffers, sanders, grinders, cleaners, etc. (“buffer”), which are typically equipped with small diameter wheels which make transport difficult. The wheel set attachment is conducive for conveying the device up flights of stairs, over obstacles, or conveying the device any appreciable distance. The wheel set attachment of the present invention easily attaches to the buffer without the need for tools and is quickly removed. Once installed, the wheel set attachment is stable and provides a pair of wheels which function as though integral to the buffer.

摘要： A mobile appliance lift tool is provided which includes a cart having a frame and a pair of legs. Each leg has a sleeve pivotally attaching the leg to an end of the frame. Each sleeve is adapted to travel up and down the leg to selectively move the frame between a substantially horizontal configuration and a substantially inclined configuration. The tool includes a strut, a support platform having a horizontal orientation, a bottom frame, and a lift mechanism engaged between the support platform and the bottom frame to move the support platform toward and away from the bottom frame, while maintaining the support platform's horizontal orientation. The strut is mounted to the bottom frame and pivotally attached to the end of the cart's frame so that the strut is disposed in a horizontal orientation when the frame is moved to either the horizontal or the inclined configuration.

摘要： A retriever and a cart that are detachably secured to one another are used for retrieving and transporting, respectively, heavy containers of the type found in trash compactors. A pair of biased looking bolts hold the retriever and container together when they are in repose. The locking bolts are retracted by squeezing a latch release handle positioned just below the retriever handle so that the cart and retriever can be easily separated from one another. The cart has curved leading surfaces so that the two parts can be reattached by simply pushing them together; the curved surfaces drive the locking bolts into their respective retracted positions so that the latch release handle need not be activated during the reattachment procedure. Another biased latch holds the retrieved containers onto the retriever and is released upon activation of a foot-operated pedal; the pedal is biased and specifically configured so that attachment of the retriever and container is accomplished in the absence of foot pedal operation. The container itself is specifically configured so that tightly compacted trash falls out of it when it is inverted, and the cart is specifically configured so that it retains the containers when it is inverted. A trash receptacle having the capacity to similarly retain a plurality of containers when inverted is also provided.

The two elongated sides of a body frame are covered with a medium hard rubber base and each side includes a spaced row of upright dowels. Each dowel has a sponge rubber sleeve and a medium hard rubber cap. The spacing between adjacent dowels is sufficient to supportively receive a windshield having the greatest curvature expected to be encountered. At least a portion of the lower edge of the windshield rests on the base and a portion of its side rests against one of the sleeves to prevent breaking, scratching and slipping of the windshield. A sponge rubber pad may be inserted between the opposite side of the supported windshield and the adjacent dowel to further secure and protect the windshield. The body frame includes openings on at least one side for receiving the tines of a fork lift for positioning the carrier in a first direction and similar apparatus or, in the alternative, wheels at the ends thereof for positioning in a transverse direction so that the carrier can be positioned for loading and unloading from either the sides or the ends of the carrier.

摘要： A traction device for lifting and towing a trailer or the like comprises a frame, a pair of wheels mounted on the frame and a ball-shaped coupling member mounted on the frame. The ball-shaped coupling member is adapted to engage and disengage complementary socket coupling means carried by a trailer. A manually engageable handle is mounted on and extends rearwardly from the frame. The handle is adapted to move the frame about the axle of the wheels to move the coupling ball from a first lowered position in which the ball-shaped coupling means may engage a trailer coupling means and a second position disposed above the axis of rotation of the axle for guidably supporting the trailer. The ball-shaped coupling means projects outwardly from the frame and handle means in a radial direction with respect to the axle a distance sufficient to provide a substantial clearance between the frame, handle means and coupling means which is to be engaged so as to permit the ball coupling to be located in the first lowered position with the frame and handle means spaced from the coupling means of a trailer. A major portion of the manually engageable handle means has an axis which extends substantially less than 90* relative to the axis passing through the axle and through the centre of the ball coupling whereby the handle may be located in a lowered locked position with the ball coupling located at the opposite side of the axle.

摘要： A device has been provided for moving and maneuvering a cart or a skid carrying thereon a load which is desired to be moved. This device comprises a means for propelling manually the device independently of the cart or, when engaged to the cart, propelling it under power, means for engaging and disengaging the cart, and means for holding the cart in an engaged position for maneuvering of the cart and moving it in a desired direction. Further, the device comprises a plate having affixed thereto four wheels and an idle or secondary wheel which idle wheel may be used to disengage two of the wheels from the surface, i.e. floor, over which the cart and the device is being moved. The means for engaging and disengaging the cart are activated merely by appropriate lowering and raising of a handle through a single arc, whereby a number of cooperating cams, cam slides, latches, springs, etc. provide for easy, maintenance-free operation of the device.
