Abstract: A vehicle window pane includes a light guide layer and a lighting device which introduces light from a lamp into the light guide layer via a light-incoupling unit arranged on the light guide layer. The lamp is mounted on a support plate and a fastening device keeps the support plate fixed in such a position on the light-incoupling unit in which the lamp is correctly positioned to radiate light into the light-incoupling unit. The fastening device comprises at least one fastening dome which protrudes from the light-incoupling unit and projects into a fastening cutout in the support plate. The substantially deformation-resistant support plate comprises at least one soft region which delimits the fastening cutout. A spreading portion of the fastening dome spreads the fastening cutout by elastically deforming the soft region.

Abstract: A roof module for forming a motor vehicle roof, the roof module having a panel component whose outer surface at least partially forms the roof skin of the vehicle roof, and an opening in which at least one environment sensor is disposed, the environment sensor being configured to send and/or receive electromagnetic signals for detecting the vehicle environment. The at least one environment sensor is displaceable between a retracted position and a deployed position. A weather strip is disposed circumferentially at the opening, and the at least one environment sensor may have a cover which is in contact with the weather strip when the at least one environment sensor is in the retracted position to seal the opening, and a contact surface which is in contact with the weather strip when the at least one environment sensor is in the deployed position to seal the opening.

Abstract: An overhead display system for a vehicle is disclosed. The system includes a central strut channel extending across the vehicle ceiling, and front and rear arches also extending across the vehicle ceiling in spaced relation to the central strut channel and in generally parallel relationship thereto. A central bracket has an upward channel attached to the central strut channel and angled surfaces and horizontal surfaces emanating forward and rearward from the central channel. The horizontal surfaces attach to the front strut or the rear strut respectively to provide anchoring stability to the central bracket. Matingly received in the central upward channel is a central fixture which is attached to a display housing at both the front and rear sections. The resulting upside down T-shaped structure provides stability and vibration management to the overhead display mount.

Abstract: A method is provided that integrates an autonomous energy harvesting capacity in vehicles in an aesthetically neutral manner. A unique set of structural features combine to implement a hidden energy harvesting system on a surface of the vehicle to provide electrical power to the vehicle, and/or to electrically-powered devices in the vehicle. Color-matched, image-matched and/or texture-matched optical layers are formed over energy harvesting components, including photovoltaic energy collecting components. Optical layers are tuned to scatter selectable wavelengths of electromagnetic energy back in an incident direction while allowing remaining wavelengths of electromagnetic energy to pass through the layers to the energy collecting components below. The layers uniquely implement optical light scattering techniques to make the layers appear opaque when observed from a light incident side, while allowing at least 50%, and as much as 80+%, of the energy impinging on the energy or incident side to pass through the layer.
