    摘要: The Reconfigurable Wheel-Track (RWT) device is a novel mechanism that allows a wheel to transform into a track, and vice versa. The wheel mode allows a vehicle to travel quickly over smooth and semi-rough terrain, then, on-the-fly, transform rapidly into a powered track mode for crossing extreme terrain. The reconfigurable wheeltrack device comprises several main components: an outer tire/tread, a drive mechanism for driving the tread when in track mode and a reconfiguration mechanism that facilitates the transformation from wheel mode to track mode and vice versa. The reconfigurable wheel-track includes sensing, actuation, and controls to facilitate efficient and effective transitions, and securely maintain each wheel and track shape.

    摘要: The stair-climbing stroller is a baby stroller with retractable front and rear wheels for use on flat travel surfaces and a pair of tracks for use on inclined travel surfaces including, but not limited to, staircases. The front wheels are coupled to a pivoting front wheel support shaft and the rear wheels are coupled to a pivoting rear wheel support shaft. A wheel retract motor located on the underside of the stroller may cause a retraction drive shaft to pivot the front and rear wheel support shafts, retracting the wheels. When the front and rear wheels retract, the stroller may be lowered such that the left and right track rest on the ground. Left and right track motors may then be used to drive the stroller up an inclined travel surface using the tracks.

    摘要: A mower includes a pair of track assemblies positioned on either side of a chassis. The track assemblies include drive wheels coupled to axles driven by an engine. A rocker rigidly mounts to the chassis independently of the engagement of the drive wheel with the axle. The rocker rotatably mounts to a mounting flange fastened to the chassis and includes a plurality of axles to which bogie wheels are mounted. The rocker is vertically below the axle and may be longitudinally centered on the axle or may be asymmetric with respect to the axle. All weight transferred is transferred to a track surrounding the drive wheel and bogie wheels through the rocker assembly engaging the chassis and no weight is transferred to the axle. A suspension may mount the track assembly to the chassis and the track may be long enough to replace front and back wheels.
