    摘要: In some embodiments, apparatuses and methods provided herein are useful for dispensing a fluid, such as a thixotropic fluid. In some embodiments, a bottle having a closure cap includes a flip top, a base, and a disk, where the base and disk define a mixing chamber configured to facilitate mixing of any serum or liquid separated from the fluid back therein. In some configurations, the base has a central opening through which the fluid exits and an internal shaft with a non-planar end surface opposite the central opening. In some configurations, the non-planar end surface and the disk define channels between the mixing chamber and the internal shaft. In some embodiments, the disk includes a central opening, a plurality of partial annular openings through a planar surface of the disk, and projections extending into the mixing chamber.

    摘要: A tube or other container for storing and dispensing a product such as toothpaste, a lotion, a cream, etc., includes one or more creases. Initially, each crease can be in a contracted position, where the tube has a first volume when the crease is in the contracted position. Due to outgassing of the product and/or other factors, pressure may increase within the sealed tube. In response to the pressure increase, the one or more creases can deflect from the contracted position to an expanded position, where the tube has a second, increased volume when the crease is in the expanded position. Deflection of the one or more creases effectively increases the volume of the interior of the tube, and maintains pressure within the tube at a desirable level.

    摘要: The invention relates to a packaging tube for a pre-determined volume of a biological substance to be stored at a low temperature and to a system including same. The inventive packaging tube comprises a portion (2) for receiving the volume and an annular end portion (3) designed to be more easily crushed by pinching than the receiving portion (2) and to adopt a flattened position in which two lips (30) are in contact with one another. In addition, the annular end portion (3) is designed such that the lips (30) are secured to one another in order to form a seal (31) on the tube. The system includes at least one such tube and a jaw welding device designed to move the annular portion (3) into the flattened position and to weld the lips (30) to one another in order to form the seal (31).

    摘要: Disclosed is an apparatus for a method for assuring the quality of the results obtained from a blood gas analyzer. The apparatus comprises a device for storing blood gas quality control reagent comprising a first variable volume, gas impermeable container for receiving the reagent. The reagent is stored exclusively in the liquid phase therein. A valved exit passageway emanates from the container which container is situated in a second container surrounding the first, a space being present therebetween and a compressed gas situated in the space. Upon opening the valve, the compressed gas decreases the volume of the first container and reagent is expelled through the exit passageway. The present device is uneffected by changes in ambient temperature since the reagent is stored exclusively in the liquid phase. The device is reusable since a portion of the reagent may be expelled without contamination of the remaining contents. Further, a method is disclosed for storing blood gas quality control reagent such that it is stored exclusively in a liquid phase.
