摘要: A method and apparatus for singulating and transferring railroad tie plates is disclosed. The singulating system includes a front chute configured to collect one or more articles, a singulating frame, a pickup assembly operably engaged with the singulating frame, a magnetic roller of the pickup assembly and a roller belt of the pickup assembly wrapped, at least in part, around the magnetic roller. The magnetic roller and the roller belt are configured to pick up the one or more articles from the front chute and transfer the one or more articles to a different location.

The device has a first, preferably continuous, container conveyor, a second, preferably continuous, container conveyor, which has multiple preferably plate-shaped carriers for transporting the containers, and a transfer station by use of which the containers can be removed from the first container conveyor and positioned on the multiple carriers of the second container conveyor. Advantageously, the device allows unstable containers to be transported securely and these containers to be buffered by use of the carriers.

The shoes (112, 212) are independently controllable to divert at least a subset of the parcels (108, 208) received at the input end transversely to the conveying direction (116, 216) and stop at a fixed line (122, 222) between opposite edges (130-132, 230-232) of the merge and align conveyor (102, 202). Thereby, a a substantially single file parcel flow exiting the discharge end of the merge and align conveyor (102,202) is obtained along the fixed line (122,222).
