摘要： A sheet feeding apparatus includes a sheet support to support a sheet, a sheet feeder to contact an upper surface of the sheet supported on the sheet support and feed the sheet, and a conveyor to convey the sheet fed from the sheet feeder. A first motor drives the sheet feeder and the conveyor, a second motor rotates in a first direction and in a second direction opposite to the first direction, and a lift is connected to the second motor and lifts the sheet feeder in a case where the second motor rotates in the second direction. A controller controls the first motor and the second motor and, during a job of feeding a sheet from the sheet support, starts rotation of the second motor in the second direction after starting feeding of a final sheet in the job and before stopping the first motor.

The movement mechanism moves to a first position where the feed roller contacts the first sheet-shaped medium unrolled from the roll body accommodated in the first accommodation portion and a second position where the feed roller contacts the second sheet-shaped medium accommodated in the second accommodation portion.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes an attachment part and a sheet feeding cassette attached to the attachment part. The sheet feeding cassette includes a cassette main body, a lift plate, a lock member and a biasing member. The lift plate is supported in a turnable manner. The lock member is movable between a lock position where a turning of the lift plate is restricted and a release position where the turning of the lift plate is permitted. The biasing member biases the lock member to the lock position. In a state where the sheet feeding cassette is not attached to the attachment part, the lock member is biased by the biasing member to be positioned at the lock position. In a state where the sheet feeding cassette is attached to the attachment part, the lock member is movable either to the lock position or the release position by hand.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes a detection unit to detect recording material fed from a stacking unit, a determination unit, a count unit, and a control unit. The determination unit determines that a feeding failure has occurred when the detection unit does not detect the recording material until elapse of a predetermined period. The count unit counts a number of times the feeding operation is performed for a single sheet of the recording material. When the counted number of feeding operation performance times by when the feeding failure has occurred is smaller than a threshold, the control unit restarts the feeding operation that has been stopped without waiting for a user's operation. When the counted number of feeding operation performance times by when the feeding failure has occurred is at least equal to the threshold, the control unit waits for the user's operation while the feeding operation is stopped.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes a control unit and an attachment detection unit to detect attachment of a cassette having a stacking portion that may be lifted by a motor. The control unit drives the motor to start lifting the stacking portion when cassette attachment is detected and stops when the stacked uppermost sheet is detected at a sheet feed position, at which time the presence or absence of the stored sheet is determined based on a detection signal output by a sheet presence/absence detection unit. In a case where there is no change in the detection signal output from the sheet presence/absence detection unit when the attachment of the cassette is detected, the control unit determines that a failure of the sheet presence/absence detection flag occurred.
