摘要： A device for sensing notches in an edge of a longitudinally transported film strip has a two-armed lever pivoted at a point to one side of the film path to deflect in the film plane. One arm carries at its end a spring biased roller which rotates freely against the moving unnotched film edge but which is biased into engagement with a notch to deflect the lever. The other lever arm is contacted by the actuating button of a microswitch the internal spring of which biases the lever to a quiescent position. A preselected deflection of the lever from this position actuates the microswitch to indicate the presence of a notch. Stops limit the deflection of the lever which is essentially normal to the direction of film movement, deflecting from a just obtuse to a just acute angle when entrained by a notch. The microswitch may be replaced by a photoelectric switching arrangement.

摘要： The disclosure relates to a device for reeling and unreeling a web or filiment under constant tension. The reeling mandrel is mounted on a sliding frame which is positively biased. The mandrel is driven by an electric motor mounted on the frame and any movement of the frame varies the rotational speed of the motor, whereby the speed of the motor is reduced as the diameter of the roll increases. This assures a constant tension on the web as it is reeled or unreeled.

摘要： A process and apparatus for accurately positioning and fixing a loom beam provided with side flanges for winding threads or fabric webs includes a pair of proximity switches which after the loom beam is brought into a prealigned position are positioned between the side flanges to determine the position of the loom beam and if necessary cause an adjustment thereof. The proximity switches are exactly symmetrically aligned with respect to a reference line that is the central line of a pressing cylinder which is provided to smooth the wound fabric webs or threads and extends between the side flanges. In case the proximity switches have different distances to the facing side flanges, the loom beam is realigned until the difference between the distances is compensated.

The apparatus includes a pair of pivotable control arms, in which the first control arm is pivotable about a fixed pivot point and the second control arm is pivotable about the end of the first control arm, a spring between the two control arms whereby upon pivoting of the second control arm the spring transmits only a portion of the movement of that arm to the first control arm, and a speed controller for controlling the predetermined rate of movement of the strip in response to movement of the first control arm.

摘要： Device for splicing one reeled length of web material onto another reeled length during operation of apparatus such as a rotogravure press which continuously consumes the web includes a magnetised element mounted for movement, typically rotation, with said one reel as the latter is run up to a peripheral speed corresponding to the speed of a flight of web from the other reel, and two proximity switches actuated by said element in timed sequence to cause a pasting roller or other element to urge said flight against a predetermined zone of the one reel for adhesion thereto, and a severing knife to cut trailing part of said flight thereafter so that web is then drawn from said one reel without interruption. The reels are conveniently carried in a rotatable cradle enabling their position to be interchanged.
