Abstract:
A method and apparatus that makes provision for a length of a transverse edge of a laundry item to be spread out to be measured upstream of a spreading device, to be precise preferably from above. It is thereby possible to individually determine the length of the transverse edge for each individual laundry item before the laundry item is situated in the spreading device. The length dimension of the transverse edge determined upstream of the spreading device can then be used to move apart the spreading clamps of the spreading device in a targeted and controlled manner in order to spread out the transverse edge in as gentle a manner as possible.

A translator to register media in a lateral direction to the transport direction includes a translation element operatively coupled to the track and moveable along a translation axis in the lateral direction, and a driver to drive the translation element a translation distance along the translation axis to rotate the track about the pivot shaft to move the registration end a selected registration distance in the lateral direction, the translation distance proportional to the selected registration distance.
Abstract:
A paper feeder according to the present invention includes a paper entrance block arranged above a flapper on au upstream side of a paper feed roller in a paper feeding direction. The flapper is configured to be capable of swinging in a vertical direction so as to alter its position between a first position in which part of a top face thereof on a downstream side in the paper feeding direction comes into contact with the paper feed roller and a second position in which the part thereof is located lower than the first position. The paper entrance block is configured so that when the flapper is in the first position, the lower end thereof comes into contact with the flapper and when the flapper is in the second position, a clearance is formed in a vertical direction between the paper entrance block and the flapper.
Abstract:
A recording apparatus includes: edge guides which move in a width direction of the recording target medium and align side edges of the recording target medium which is stacked; a motor which moves the edge guides; a determining section which determines whether an electric current value when the motor is driven reaches a predetermined threshold value; and a position detecting section which detects a position of the edge guides in the width direction. Here, when the side edges of the recording target medium are aligned, the edge guides move close to the recording target medium and it is determined whether a difference between a position of the edge guides at the time when the electric current value reaches the predetermined threshold value and a position of the edge guides corresponding to the size of the recording target medium is equal to or smaller than a predetermined allowable value.
Abstract:
A sheet transport roller system and methods for reducing sheet skew using a sheet transport roller system are disclosed. A sheet transport roller system for use in a document processing device may include a plurality of idler rollers, a plurality of drive rollers and a load distribution mechanism. Each drive roller may correspond to a corresponding idler roller. The load distribution mechanism may be configured to support the plurality of idler rollers and to equalize normal forces applied by each idler roller towards the corresponding drive roller. The load distribution mechanism may include a center loading spring in contact with the document processing device.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a work sheet conveying device having a traveling member with a compact work sheet holder, making it possible to improve work sheet conveying speed and to reduce the time required for acceleration and deceleration, the work sheet conveying device further making it possible to improve the efficiency with which small work sheet's are conveyed. The work sheet conveying device includes a plurality of traveling members 13, 14 that can travel independently along a plurality of tracks 11, 12 installed parallel to one another between a work sheet processing machine 1 and a work sheet placement portion. Each of the traveling members has a work sheet holder 19, 20 that holds a work sheet. A part of the work sheet holder 19, 20 is configured as an expanding portion 26 the position of which can be changed to a traveling area R1, R2 for the traveling member traveling along the adjacent track. The device selectively performs an individual conveying operation of allowing each of the traveling member to hold and individually convey the work sheet using the work sheet holder 19, 20 and a cooperative conveying operation of allowing the plurality of traveling members 13, 14 to hold and convey the same work sheet using the respective work sheet holders 19, 20 with the position of the expanding portion 26 changed.
Abstract:
A substrate reverse moving device is composed of a reversing mechanism and a moving mechanism. A rotating mechanism incorporates a motor or the like, and is capable of rotating a first movable member and a second movable member to which first and second supporting members that support a substrate therebetween are fixed, respectively, around a horizontal axis through, for example, 180 degrees via a link mechanism. Moreover, a pair of transport rails is fixed on a base in parallel to V direction. A pair of sliding blocks is slidably attached to the pair of transport rails. A floorboard of the reversing mechanism is attached to the sliding blocks. A direct acting mechanism moves a driver in a direction parallel to the transport rails, so that the reversing mechanism moves back and forth in the V direction along the transport rails.
Abstract:
The object of the present invention is to provide a sheet conveying apparatus capable of correcting the skew conveying of a sheet without causing a tugging. In order to accomplish the object, the sheet conveying apparatus includes a detection unit for detecting an inclination to a sheet conveying direction of a sheet to be conveyed; an inclination correction unit for correcting the inclination of the sheet by rotating in a state of nipping the sheet of an inclined state based on a detection signal from the detection unit; a first conveying unit, which is provided in the upstream side of the inclination correction unit and nips the sheet toward the inclination correction unit and conveys the same; a first nipping release unit for releasing a nipping state of the second sheet conveying unit, which is provided in the downstream side of the inclination correction unit and nips the sheet from the inclination correction unit and convey the same to the downstream side; a second nipping release unit for releasing the nipping state of the second sheet conveying unit; and a control unit for controlling the first nipping release unit and the second nipping release unit to selectively release the sheet nipping state of the first sheet conveying unit and the second sheet conveying unit according to an inclination correction operation by the inclination correction unit.
Abstract:
A a sheet supplying apparatus includes a sheet holding member adapted to hold a plurality of sheets and having a regulating wall for regulating movement of the sheets in a sheet supplying direction, a sucker member for absorbing with a vacuum force an uppermost sheet among the sheets held by the sheet holding member, and a pressure reducer for reducing pressure in the sucker. In addition, a driver drives the sucker member to convey the sheet absorbed by the vacuum, a height detector detects a height position of the uppermost sheet, and a sheet urging member urges the sheets in a sheet stacking direction and moves the sheet toward the regulating wall. The sheet member urges means urging the uppermost sheet with predetermined pressure on the basis of the detected height position.
