摘要: A system for delivering a fluid to a fluid consuming asset having a fluid tank is disclosed. An inlet of a manifold is fluidically coupled to a storage tank that contains the fluid to be delivered. A first distal end of a fluid transporting mechanism is fluidically coupled to an outlet of the manifold. A second distal end of the fluid transporting mechanism is fluidically coupled to the fluid tank. A primary valve is fluidically coupled to the fluid transporting mechanism and restricts fluid flow to the fluid tank when fluid level in the fluid tank reaches a first fluid level threshold. A secondary valve is fluidically coupled to the fluid transporting mechanism and restricts fluid flow to the fluid tank when fluid level in the fluid tank reaches a second fluid level threshold. The first fluid level threshold is lower than the second fluid level threshold.

摘要: A fluid dispensing nozzle including a nozzle body having a fluid path and a suction path therein. The nozzle has a valve positioned in the fluid path and configured to selectively prevent or allow a flow of fluid through the fluid path, and a manually operable actuator operatively connectable to the valve. The nozzle also includes a suction generator configured to apply a suction force in the suction path at a suction location. The suction path includes an expansion chamber located upstream of the suction location with respect to a direction of flow in the suction path. A bottom surface of the expansion chamber and a bottom surface of a portion of the suction path positioned immediately upstream of the expansion chamber are generally aligned.

摘要: A breakaway assembly including a first connector and a second connector releasably coupleable to the first connector. The assembly is movable between a first configuration in which the first and second connectors are releasably coupled and together define a fluid path through which fluid is flowable, and a second configuration in which the first and second connectors are not coupled together. The assembly is configured to move from the first configuration to the second configuration when a predetermined separation force is applied to the assembly. The assembly includes a closure valve positioned in one of the first or second connectors, wherein the closure valve is configured to be in an open position when the assembly is in the first configuration to allow fluid to flow therethrough, and to move to a closed position when the assembly moves to the second configuration to generally block the flow of fluid therethrough. The assembly includes an attraction member coupled to one of the first or second connectors, and a magnet unit coupled to the other one of the first or second connectors, wherein the attraction member and the magnet unit are magnetically attracted to each other when the assembly is in the first configuration to retain assembly in the first configuration. The magnet unit includes a first portion and a second portion coupled to the first portion that together define a channel therebetween, and the magnet unit further includes a plurality of magnets received in the channel.

摘要: A fuel leak prevention system and method for providing same includes a check valve for insertion into the discharge end of a spout assembly of a fuel dispensing nozzle, the check valve being located downstream of the nozzle's fuel control valve so as to prevent any leaking or dripping of fuel from the spout when the nozzle is deactivated. The check valve includes a pivoting flap that is preferably spring-loaded and predisposed to remain closed to seal the spout when there is no fuel flowing through the nozzle, but which is allowed to rotate within the spout to open the nozzle and allow the flow of fuel when the nozzle is activated. In one embodiment, the check valve can be inserted into the spout during fabrication of the nozzle. An alternate embodiment allows the retrofit of an existing nozzle by adding an extension that contains the check valve to the spout on the nozzle. The system and method disclosed has application to any liquids that are to be dispensed, including petrol, diesel, kerosene, gas oil, gas, liquid petroleum gas, av-gas, chemicals, and water.

摘要: Provided herein are couplings useful in the transfer of liquid fuels from a remote storage reservoir to an on-board fuel tank of a motorized vehicle. There is provided a first coupling which is configured to be in fluid communication with the interior of a vehicle's fuel tank, and a second coupling which is intended to be in fluid communication with the contents of a remote fuel storage reservoir. The disclosure also includes a process for charging a fuel reservoir on board of a motorized vehicle from a remote reservoir, wherein the vapor in the fuel reservoir is displaced by an equal volume of fuel delivered from said remote reservoir, and wherein the vapor in said fuel reservoir is simultaneously caused to be transferred to said remote reservoir, thus permitting no escape of the vapor from said fuel reservoir to the surrounding atmosphere. Through use of the present disclosure, spills of fuel are essentially eliminated, and the escape of vapors from the vehicle's fuel tank are prevented, thus preventing atmospheric hydrocarbon pollution.

摘要: A fuel dispensing nozzle has a body in which a fuel passage is formed, a spout attached to the body, a poppet valve contained within the nozzle body, for controlling the flow of fuel through the nozzle; a hand operated lever actuates the poppet valve, and the nozzle includes an automatic shut-off mechanism to provide shut-off of the nozzle, when the fuel tank is filled. The automatic shut-off mechanism includes a plunger, a latch pin disposed for vertical movement therein, with the latch pin being embraced by a diaphragm support, of the automatic shut-off mechanism, to provide a lost motion gap which allows the diaphragm to slightly shift, during initiation and dispensing of fuel, and prevent premature shut-off; the latch pin includes an annular upwardly extending collar, that is capable of connecting with a surrounding shoulder formed of the diaphragm support. There is also provided a sleeve-like collar mounted upon the latch pin, to separate the upper end of the plunger from the lower shoulder of the diaphragm support.
