摘要: The technology relates to a method of producing synthesis gas comprising carbon monoxide (CO) and hydrogen (H2), wherein the synthesis gas is produced by a reduction reaction of a first flow comprising a carbon source and an excess of hydrogen in contact with an Oxy-flame. The hydrogen comes from a reducing stream, a first portion of which ends up in the first flow, and a second part of which is used to generate the Oxy-flame by combustion of the hydrogen in the presence of a second flow comprising oxygen (O2), the second flow coming from an oxidizing stream. The first flow and the second flow are at a distance from each other such that the Oxy-flame supports the reaction between the carbon source and the hydrogen. A reactor, which can have different configurations, is also proposed for implementing the method.

摘要: A method for producing hydrogen product having a low carbon intensity is provided. The method includes the steps of: (a) converting a hydrocarbon feedstock to a hydrogen product using a hydrocarbon reforming process; (b) providing at least some of the required energy for the hydrogen production process from a biomass power plant; and (c) processing one or more flue gas streams from the biomass power plant in a carbon capture unit to reduce CO2e emissions. The hydrogen product has a carbon intensity preferably less than about 1.0 kg CO2e/kg H2, more preferably less than 0.45 kg CO2e/kg H2, and most preferably less than 0.0 kg CO2e/kg H2.

摘要: Method and apparatus for converting waste solid sustainable carbon material to chemical products is described herein. The methods add hydrocarbon derived from fossil sources to gas derived from gasifying waste solid sustainable carbon material to enhance hydrogen availability, and in some cases carbon availability, for production of the chemical products. Carbon dioxide made by the process is at least partially sequestered to yield a chemical manufacturing process with environmental burden substantially less than conventional processes. Use of the hydrocarbon boosts yield of final products.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to systems and methods useful for power production. In particular, a power production cycle utilizing CO2 as a working fluid may be configured for simultaneous hydrogen production. Beneficially, substantially all carbon arising from combustion in power production and hydrogen production is captured in the form of carbon dioxide. Further, produced hydrogen (optionally mixed with nitrogen received from an air separation unit) can be input as fuel in a gas turbine combined cycle unit for additional power production therein without any atmospheric CO2 discharge.

摘要: Process and apparatus for producing a low-nitrogen synthesis gas from a natural gas containing nitrogen and carbon dioxide, from which water and carbon dioxide are removed in a first temperature swing adsorption plant and subsequently nitrogen is removed in a cryogenic gas fractionator, to give a low-nitrogen, water-free and carbon dioxide-free natural gas, which is next supplied to a thermochemical conversion, so as to recover a crude syngas comprising hydrogen, carbon monoxide, water and carbon dioxide, from which the low-nitrogen synthesis gas is obtained at least by the removal of water and carbon dioxide in a second temperature swing adsorption plant. The characteristic feature here is that at least a part of the low-nitrogen, water-free and carbon dioxide-free natural gas prior to its thermochemical conversion is used as regenerating gas in the regeneration of the first and/or second temperature swing adsorption plant.

摘要: An apparatus and method to desulfurize a biogas containing sulfur. Since biogas is produced by an anaerobic digester from human, animal, kitchen and agriculture's wastes, it is a short term recycled product from the photosynthesis of CO2, and has a net zero carbon emission. The sulfur compounds in the biogas can be removed by the following steps: (1) converting ail sulfur compounds into H2S by the hydrogen produced from the biogas over Pt group metal catalysts; (2) adsorbing the H2S at high temperature by the regenerable Pt group metal catalyst and adsorbents. The desulfurized biogas is further converted by an ATR/CPO reformer or a steam generating reformer to produce various reformates.
