摘要: A method of removing a metal ion from water is disclosed. The method includes treating the water with a nanocomposite to absorb the metal ion with the nanocomposite, forming a polymer-metal ion composite and removing the polymer-metal ion composite from the water. The nanocomposite includes aluminum oxide dispersed in a matrix of an uncrosslinked graft copolymer that includes a chitosan backbone and side chains of poly (itaconic acid) grafted to the chitosan backbone. The chitosan backbone has a plurality of amino groups that are acetylated by itaconic acid.

One example method of controlling a wash treatment solution for a food product generally includes obtaining a sample stream of the wash treatment solution, wherein the wash treatment solution comprises silver ions; reducing the silver ions in the sample stream to form colloidal silver in the sample stream; and optically measuring a concentration of the colloidal silver in the sample stream.

摘要: Method and apparatus pertaining to the production of hydrogen sulfide using sodium salts recycle. Sodium sulfate is reacted with a carbon containing stream to produce sodium sulfide and carbon dioxide. The sodium sulfide is blended with elemental sulfur and water. The blend is subjected to elevated temperatures and pressures to result in the production of hydrogen sulfide and sodium sulfate. A mixing apparatus, such as a bubble column reactor, has been found to be especially useful. The hydrogen sulfide can be used for removing metal from effluents.

摘要: A preparation method of a thiol-functionalized magnetic oxygenous carbon nitride nanosheet includes: dispersing carbon nitride oxide ultrasonically to obtain a carbon nitride oxide suspension; dissolving an iron source, and then adding it to the carbon nitride oxide suspension to obtain a first mixed solution; after an hydrothermal reaction of the first mixed solution, adjusting the pH value of the reaction system to be alkaline, and then cooling, separating the sediment, washing and drying to obtain a magnetic carbon nitride oxide composite; dispersing the magnetic carbon nitride oxide composite ultrasonically in a solvent, and then adding acid to adjust the pH to be acidic to obtain a second mixed solution; adding a thiol-rich modifier to the second mixed solution to modify the magnetic carbon nitride oxide composite; after modification, separating and washing the magnetic carbon nitride oxide composite from the solution to obtain a thiol-functionalized magnetic oxygenous carbon nitride nanosheet.

摘要: An adsorbent and a method of preparing the adsorbent are described. The adsorbent includes a 2-anthracene ammonium magnetic ionic liquid (MIL), and a [FeCl4]− or a [CoCl3]− ion. The adsorbents, 2-anthracene ammonium tetrachloroferrate (III) ([2AA] FeCl4) and 2-anthracene ammonium trichlorocobaltate (II) ([2AA] CoCl3), are prepared by protonation of 2-aminoanthracene, followed by complexation with FeCl3/CoCl2. The adsorbent of the present disclosure is effective in removing contaminants such as heavy metal ions from an aqueous system in a cost-efficient and selective manner.

摘要: Products and methods related to the enhancement of efficacy of algaecides and/or aquatic herbicides using metallic trivalent cations, as well as the reduction in ecotoxicity and non-target effects and preservation of water quality. Some embodiments advantageously provide the benefit of binding phosphorus, but allow for a substantial reduction in the dissolved trivalent metal and an increased ability to target the main source of future phosphorus release. In one aspect of an embodiment, a trivalent cation delivery system includes a commonly available commodity that can be simultaneously added to the water or mixed in a tank prior to the application, avoiding the need for an industrial process to cohere the components. In another aspect of the embodiment, the trivalent cation delivery system may be accomplished by the use of an algaecide and/or aquatic herbicide prior to the application of the phosphorus binding metal.

Slag from steel making operations and other industrial waste materials that include alkali metal and/or alkaline earth elements have been found to both raise pH of the waste water and also reduce arsenic content. Following such treatment the spent slag or industrial waste can be utilized as a source of valuable metals or incorporated into stabilized building materials.
