摘要: Embodiments of the invention described herein relate to a polyethylene polymer composition suitable for use in the manufacture of packaging articles, flexible films and/or sheets. In one embodiment, the copolymer comprises a polyethylene resin with density 0.918 g/cm3 to about 0.935 g/cm3, G′ at G″(500 Pa) value, as determined from Dynamic Mechanical Analysis at 190° C., of less than 40 Pa, Mz/Mw of greater than 2, CDBI50 of greater than 60. Other embodiments relate to polymer compositions with defined molecular characteristics and formulations suitable for use in the manufacture of articles including films, sheets, bags and pouches with improved creep resistance and high toughness and a good balance of film stiffness and processability in monolayer and/or multi-layer film structures.

摘要: Provided herein are VLDPE polymer compositions suitable for use in the manufacture of flexible films or sheets. In one embodiment, the copolymer comprises a polyethylene VLDPE resin with Mz/Mw of greater than 2, CDBI50 of greater than 55 and a single melting peak in DSC measurement. The polymer compositions disclosed herein may be suitable for use in the manufacture of films with improved balance of film toughness, processability and sealability in monolayer and multi-layer film structures.

摘要: The invention relates to a process for the polymerization of olefins comprising the comprising the steps of a. Polymerizing olefins in a reaction mixture comprising monomers, diluent, processing aids to prepare a product stream comprising polyolefins, monomers and diluent; b. Removing the polyolefins from the product stream to obtain a purge stream; c. Removing gaseous components from the purge stream to obtain a liquid fraction; d. Treating the liquid fraction with at least one ionic liquid to obtain a fraction containing unsaturated hydrocarbons; e. Recycling the fraction containing unsaturated hydrocarbons to the reaction mixture, optionally after purification of said fraction containing unsaturated hydrocarbons. The invention also relates to an olefin polymerization system comprising a polymerization reactor, a purge vessel, a vent gas recovery and an ionic liquid separator for separating liquid alkenes from liquid alkanes, wherein the liquid alkenes which are separated from the alkanes in the ionic liquid separator can be recycled to the polymerization reactor.

摘要: A copolymer has low levels of isoprenoid (short chain branching) structures. A process for producing the copolymer having low isoprenoid content involves contacting at least one isoolefin monomer with at least one multiolefin and/or β-pinene monomer in the presence of at least one Lewis acid and at least one initiator in a diluent. The diluent may contain a hydrofluorinated olefin (HFO) comprising at least three carbon atoms and at least three fluorine atoms. Hydrofluorinated olefins used in the present invention are better diluents for butyl slurry cationic polymerization than saturated hydrofluorocarbons. Blends of saturated hydrofluorocarbons (e.g. 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane) with an inert solvent (e.g. methyl chloride) may also be used as diluents.

摘要: The present invention provides a 4-methyl-1-pentene/α-olefin copolymer being excellent in lightness, stress absorption, stress relaxation, vibration damping properties, scratch resistance, abrasion resistance, toughness, mechanical properties and flexibility, having no stickiness during molding operation and being excellent in the balance among these properties; a composition comprising the polymer; and uses thereof. The 4-methyl-1-pentene/α-olefin copolymer (A) of the present invention satisfies specific requirements, and comprises 5 to 95 mol % of a structural unit (i) derived from 4-methyl-1-pentene, 5 to 95 mol % of a structural unit (ii) derived from at least one kind of α-olefin selected from α-olefins having 2 to 20 carbon atoms excluding 4-methyl-1-pentene and 0 to 10 mol % of a structural unit (iii) derived from a non-conjugated polyene, provided that the total of the structural units (i), (ii), and (iii) is 100 mol %.

摘要: The present invention provides an olefin resin with an improved heat resistance, reduced stickiness, excellent optical and low temperature properties, as well as the balance between these physical properties. The olefin resin according to the present invention satisfies the following requirements: (I) a melting peak (Tm) is observed within the range of from 60° C. to 130° C., and the heat of fusion ΔH at the melting peak is within the range of from 5 to 150 J/g; (II) the percentage E (wt %) of a portion soluble in o-dichlorobenzene at 20° C. or lower, and the heat of fusion ΔH satisfy certain relationships; (III) the glass transition temperature (Tg) is from −80 to −30° C.; (IV) the spin-spin relaxation time (T2) of a component having the highest mobility, as obtained in a four-component approximation with a Lorentzian function performed for a free induction decay curve, is within the range of from 150 to 500 ms, and the abundance ratio of the component is within the range of from 15 to 50%; and (V) the intrinsic viscosity [η] as measured in decalin at 135° C. is within the range of from 0.1 to 12 dl/g.

摘要: A method of making a low-fluoride reactive PIB composition includes in one embodiment: a) providing an isobutylene-enriched C4 feedstock by way of blending a first mixed C4 feedstock with a second feedstock having a lower LB/IsoB index; (b) feeding the isobutylene-enriched C4 feedstock to a polymerization reactor with a catalyst complex comprising BF3 and a modifier selected from alcohols, ethers and mixtures thereof; (c) polymerizing the isobutylene-enriched C4 feedstock in the reactor while maintaining the reactor at a temperature above −40° C. and most preferably above −15° C. and utilizing a residence time less than 45 minutes to produce a crude PIB composition in a polymerization mixture; and (d) recovering a purified PIB composition from the polymerization mixture having a molecular weight, Mn, from 250 to 5000 Daltons and an alpha vinylidene content of at least 50 mol %. The crude PIB composition suitably has a fluoride content of less than 100 ppm and the purified PIB composition has a fluoride content of less than 20 ppm. In another aspect, ammonium salts are used to neutralize the catalyst and fluoride salts are sublimed from the product at elevated temperatures.
