Abstract: An adhesive composition having high room-temperature peel strength, high hot peel strength, and excellent adhesion, as well as excellent electrolyte resistance even when used for packaging materials for lithium ion batteries is provided, which contains an organic solvent, a polyolefin (A) that has an acidic group and/or an acid anhydride group and is soluble in the organic solvent, and an isocyanate compound, wherein the isocyanate compound comprises (B) a diisocyanate compound having a C4-7 hydrocarbon group and/or a derivative thereof, and (C) a diisocyanate compound having a C8-14 hydrocarbon group and/or a derivative thereof; and a heat-fusible member using the adhesive composition is also provided.

Abstract: The invention relates to a modified polyisocyanate and use thereof, especially as a crosslinking component in a water-soluble or water-dispersible coating composition. The modified polyisocyanate comprises iminooxadiazinedione structure and isocyanurate structure, wherein the weight ratio of the iminooxadiazinedione structure to the isocyanurate structure is not less than 1: 5; and relative to the total weight of the modified polyisocyanate, the total amount of molecules with a number average molecular weight greater than 2700 g/mol in the modified polyisocyanate is 4.1% by weight to 22% by weight; and the modified polyisocyanate is obtainable by the reaction of: an aminosulfonic acid, a polyisocyanate; a tertiary amine; and optionally a polyether alcohol containing ethylene oxide groups.

Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a golf ball having excellent spin performance on approach shots under a wet condition and excellent spin performance on approach shots under a condition that there is grass between the golf ball and the club face. The present invention provides a golf ball comprising a golf ball body and a paint film composed of at least one layer and formed on a surface of the golf ball body, wherein an outermost layer of the paint film located at the outermost layer of the golf ball contains a base resin and a porous filler, the base resin contains a polyurethane obtained by a reaction between a polyisocyanate composition and a polyol composition, and the porous filler contains SiO2 in an amount of 50 mass % or more as a constituent component.

Abstract: Novel polymers are depolymerizable by metathesis of a cleavable unit. As an example, a series of linear and crosslinked polyurethanes were prepared that can be selectively depolymerized under mild conditions. Two unique polyols were synthesized bearing unsaturated units in a configuration designed to favor ring-closing metathesis to five- and six-membered cycloalkenes. These polyols were co-polymerized with toluene diisocyanate to generate linear polyurethanes and trifunctional hexamethylene- and diphenylmethane-based isocyanates to generate crosslinked polyurethanes. The polyol design is such that the ring-closing metathesis reaction cleaves the backbone of the polymer chain. Upon exposure to dilute solutions of Grubbs' catalyst under ambient conditions, the polyurethanes were rapidly depolymerized to low molecular weight, soluble products bearing vinyl and cycloalkene functionalities. These functionalities enabled further re-polymerization by traditional strategies for polymerization of double bonds. This general approach can be expanded to develop a range of chemically recyclable condensation polymers that are readily depolymerized by orthogonal metathesis chemistry.
