Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the production of 1,4-butanediol comprising the preparation of a fermentation broth comprising 1,4-butanediol from renewable sources and water, separation of a liquid fraction comprising said 1,4-butanediol and water from one or more solid fractions, said liquid fraction comprising 2-pyrrolidone in an amount higher than 80 ppm, one or more passages of the resulting liquid fraction through a bed comprising one or more cation-exchange resins thereby providing an output pH of said liquid fraction from 4 to 2, one or more passages of the resulting liquid fraction through a bed comprising one or more anion-exchange resins thereby providing an output pH of said liquid fraction from 8 to 11, and the distillation of the liquid fraction thereby provided so as to obtain a composition having a concentration of said 1,4-butanediol higher than 99.0% by weight and comprising 2-pyrrolidone in an amount lower than 6 ppm. The resulting composition should exhibit an APHA color value after ageing of less than 30.

Abstract: The invention relates to blends of sulfo-modified copolyester and polyalkylene furanoate such as polyethylene-, polybutylene-, or polytrimethylene-furanoate, or a mixture thereof. The sulfo-modified copolyester comprises at least about 75 mole % of polyethylene terephthalate or polyethylene naphthalate or a mixture thereof; and at least about 0.1 mole % to about 5 mole % of units of the Formula (I) wherein n is an integer from 3 to 10 and wherein M+ is an alkali metal ion, earth alkali metal ion, phosphonium ion or ammonium ion. Articles requiring high gas barrier are bottles for beer, juices, carbonated soft drinks, and the like.

wherein the rate of polycondensation in step c) is faster with the anthraquinone compound present than without; and
c) adding at least one anthraquinone compound as disclosed herein; and-

Abstract: A thermoplastic polyester resin includes a residue of an aromatic dicarboxylic acid or an ester-forming derivative thereof and a residue of a diol or an ester-forming derivative thereof, as main structural units, wherein the thermoplastic polyester resin has a hydroxy group concentration of 0.050 mmol/g or less. The use of such a thermoplastic polyester resin enables production of a molded article having excellent mechanical properties and heat resistance, and a reduced dielectric loss tangent at a high frequency of 1 GHz or more.

Abstract: An unsaturated polyester resin composition includes: a resin component comprising an unsaturated polyester, a polymerizable monomer, and a low profile agent; aluminum hydroxide; and a fire retardant. Abstract: A transparent peelable polyester film is provided having a base layer (B) with first and second surfaces. A layer (C) is applied on the base layer (B). A heat-sealable layer (A), peelable to APET AND RPET, is applied on the opposing surface of the base layer (B). The heat-sealable and peelable outer layer (A) is formed from (a) from 85 to 99% by weight of polyester and (b) from 1 to 15% by weight of other substances. The polyester is formed from 25 to 95 mol % of units derived from at least one aromatic dicarboxylic acid and from 5 to 75 mol % of units derived from at least one aliphatic dicarboxylic acid, and the polyester includes at least 10 mol % of units derived from linear or branched diols having more than 2 and the layer (C) includes crosslinked acrylate and/or methacrylate-based copolymers.
