摘要: Disclosed are methods of decreasing the concentration of a metal in a monomer composition including a bis(benzoyl)benzene, bis(benzoyl)benzene monomer compositions having a low total metal concentration, di-ketone polymers made from low metal bis(benzoyl)benzene monomers, and polymer compositions and shaped articles including the di-ketone polymers. It was surprisingly found that di-ketone polymers made by nucleophilic substitution of low metal bis(benzoyl)benzene monomers exhibit greater crystallinity, as compared with di-ketone polymers made with conventional monomers.

摘要: Provided is a thermoplastic resin composition which has excellent heat resistance, mechanical characteristics, and adhesion properties with respect to a reinforcing fiber base material, which is a different kind of material, and from which a molded article particularly having excellent rigidity at a high temperature is obtained. A thermoplastic resin composition is provided, which includes: a phenoxy resin (A) having a hydroxy group and/or an epoxy group at a polymer chain terminal; and a polyamide resin (B), wherein a proportion of the phenoxy resin (A) is 50 to 90 mass % and a proportion of the polyamide resin (B) is 10 to 50 mass % relative to a total amount of 100 mass % of the phenoxy resin (A) and the polyamide resin (B), and a tensile modulus retention rate [Equation (i) below] of a dumbbell test piece (JIS K 7139, Type A1), and a molded article manufactured therefrom is also provided.

摘要: A method for converting vanillin to bis(cyanate) ester monomers, comprising treating vanillin with a reductive coupling agent to form at least one olefin. The olefin or olefins are treated with hydrogen and a metal catalyst to hydrogenate said olefin. The hydrogenated olefin or olefins are treated with at least one cyanogen halide and a base in an organic solvent to afford at least one olefin monomer. The olefin monomer or monomers are purified by recrystallization or precipitation from an organic solvent.

The compound is preferably represented by formula (2). The sum of k1 and k2 in the formula (1) is preferably no less than 3.
