摘要： The present invention provides new classes of phenol compounds, including those derived from tyrosol and analogues, useful as monomers for preparation of biocompatible polymers, and biocompatible polymers prepared from these monomeric phenol compounds, including novel biodegradable and/or bioresorbable polymers. These biocompatible polymers or polymer compositions with enhanced bioresorbabilty and processability are useful in a variety of medical applications, such as in medical devices and controlled-release therapeutic formulations. The invention also provides methods for preparing these monomeric phenol compounds and biocompatible polymers.

摘要： Provided is a method of manufacturing an aromatic polyketone film, the method including: applying a coating liquid to at least a part of a surface of a substrate to form a coating liquid layer, the coating liquid including a solvent and an aromatic polyketone having a structural unit represented by Formula (1) or (2); drying the coating liquid layer; and after the drying, subjecting the coating liquid layer to a heat treatment. In Formula (1) or (2), each R1 independently represents an alkyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms; each R2 and each R3 independently represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms; X represents a specific divalent aromatic hydrocarbon group, or a divalent alicyclic hydrocarbon group having 3 to 30 carbon atoms; and Y represents a specific divalent functional group.

摘要： A solid surface sheet includes visible, elongated, shredded cuttings uniformly distributed throughout a matrix wherein the cuttings and the matrix have substantially the same specific weight and wherein a majority of the cuttings are substantially elongated. Related methods are also disclosed including shredding a first mix while in a gel state, curing the cuttings, sorting by size, and using as a filler in a base material to form a blend having a unique appearance and high internal strength. The preferred material is polyester or acrylic. The solid surface sheet can be used as a countertop, floor or wall panel, furniture, and in similar applications.

摘要： Certain embodiments are directed to cyanate resin blends comprising, for example, a mixture of a cyanate monomer and a cyanate oligomer. The resin blends are effective to provide a dielectric constant of less than 2.7, a glass transition temperature of at least 150° C. and a moisture absorption of less than 1.5%. Radomes using the resin are also described.

The cross-linked polycarbonate may be derived from a polycarbonate having about 0.5 mol % to about 5 mol % endcap groups derived from a monohydroxybenzophenone. A plaque including the composition can achieve a UL94 5VA rating. Also disclosed herein are articles including the compositions, methods of using the compositions, and processes for preparing the compositions.
