摘要: Provided are solvent cement formulations comprising some or all of tetrahydrofuran, cyclohexanone, methyl ethyl ketone, acetone, a thermoplastic resin, silica, and, a solvent soluble acrylic copolymer associative thickener. The disclosed formulations contain a reduced complement of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) relative to conventional cement formulations, yet are capable of meeting the requirements for regular-, medium-, and heavy-duty applications. The use of specialized associative thickener components confers a required degree of viscosity while enabling a reduction in the concentration of VOCs, such as tetrahydrofuran.

摘要: An article is described comprising a first film layer comprising polylactic acid polymer (semicrystalline polylactic acid polymer; amorphous polylactic acid polymer; or a mixture thereof); a second (e.g. polyvinyl acetate) polymer having a Tg of at least 25° C.; plasticizer. In some embodiment, the film layer further comprises inorganic pigment and/or hydrolysis stabilizer. In other embodiments, the film has a net melting endotherm, ΔHnm1, of less than 10 J/g. Also described are methods of making a graphic film.

摘要: Radiation shielding performs a range of functions determined by the type and number of layers of materials used, thickness, weight, and structural support afforded by the radiation shielding. A radiation shield laminate stack may be constructed consisting of a plurality of layers of ultra-high molecular weight (UHMW) polyethylene, polyethylene film, and carbon fiber, which is held together with an epoxy. The carbon fiber lay may be coated with nanoparticles of Boron (B) or Boron Nitride (BN), Boron Oxide (B2O3) or Boron Carbide (B4C) or a combination thereof to increase the shielding properties of the laminate stack. The radiation shield is lighter than aluminum, structurally sound, and thus may be used in the space environment to effectively block Galactic Cosmic Rays, atomic oxygen and UV radiation.

摘要: The present invention provides a recyclable laminate film structure comprising a separation layer coating. The separation layer coating facilitates separation of a selected polymer film during the recycling processing by selecting the polymer of the coating composition to have particular Hansen Solubility Parameters, so that the laminate structure delaminates at the layer of the coating, leaving clean pieces of the selected polymer film. In certain embodiments, the separation layer coating is a barrier coating, such as an oxygen barrier coating.
