    Abstract: A polyphenylene sulfide resin composition includes a blend of the following: 100 parts by weight of a polyphenylene sulfide resin (A); 100 to 250 parts by weight of a modified cross-section glass fiber (B); and 25 to 150 parts by weight of a non-fibrous inorganic filler (C) satisfying the following (C-a) and (C-b): (C-a) having a Mohs hardness of more than 2 and less than 4, and (C-b) having a melting point or softening point of 380° C. or more; wherein the ratio X/Y of the mass X of the modified cross-section glass fiber (B) to the mass Y of the non-fibrous inorganic filler (C) is more than 1 and less than 7.

    Abstract: The disclosure relates to a coating composition comprising a resin system comprising an organic film-forming resin and optionally a curing agent reactive with the organic film-forming resin, a lithium salt with a solubility in water in the range from 0.01 to 120 g/L at 20° C., selected from the group consisting of lithium carbonate, lithium phosphate, lithium bicarbonate, lithium tetraborate, and lithium oxalate, and a zinc salt of 2,5-dimercapto-1,3,4-thiadiazole (DMTD), wherein the zinc salt of DMTD is present as solid particles, the surface of which is at least partially covered by a layer of a film-formed polymer. The zinc salt of DMTD was shown to have a synergistic effect on reinforcement of barrier properties of a protective layer that is formed in a coating defect due to the presence of the lithium salt. In addition, the coating composition has an improved pot life.

    Abstract: A method for manufacturing a lesion tissue prosthesis that simulates protein properties is provided, which includes steps of: adding sodium carbonate and sodium polyacrylate to a first deionized water to obtain a first mixture; adding a cross-linking agent to the first mixture, and waiting for the cross-linking agent to be completely dissolved; and adding an initiator and an accelerator to the first mixture, stirring to form a viscous colloid, and then shaping the viscous colloid to form a lesion tissue prosthesis. A medical prosthesis is also provided, which is formed by a normal tissue prothesis made of an elastic colloid that covers or adheres to the lesion tissue prosthesis.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to aqueous polymer latexes of film-forming copolymer particles obtainable by aqueous emulsion polymerisation of monoethylenically monomers M, which mainly comprise non-ionic monomers of the group consisting of alkyl(meth)acrylates, cycloalkyl(meth)acrylates and monovinylaromatic hydrocarbon monomers and which additionally comprise 0.01 to 1% by weight, based on the total weight of monomers M, of at least one monoethylenically unsaturated monomer M2 having a hydrolysable silane group; and 0.1 to 2% by weight, based on the total weight of monomers M, of at least one monoethylenically unsaturated monomer M3 having an acidic phosphate group, or a salt thereof and where the copolymer particles in the polymer latex have volume median particle diameter of at least 250 nm, as determined by dynamic light scattering according to the ISO 13321:1996 standard. The polymer latexes are particularly suitable as binders in coating compositions having high pigment volume concentration (PVC) of preferably above 60% and provide good wet scrub resistance and opacity to coatings obtained therefrom. The present invention also relates to a process for producing such polymer latexes, to waterborne coating compositions containing these latexes and to the use of said polymer latexes for improving the wet scrub resistance and the opacity of coating compositions having a pigment volume concentration (PVC) of preferably above 60%.
