An isocyanate curative used for curing water-borne polyurethane adhesive compositions and providing enhanced water-resistance to the cured adhesive is the reaction product of A) between about 30 and about 60 wt. % one or more polyethers formed from alkyl oxides, between about 5 and about 40 mole percent of the total polyether content comprising propylene oxide units and between about 60 and about 95 mole percent of the total polyether content comprising polyethylene oxide units, B) between about 1 and about 10 wt % of an aliphatic diol(s), C) between about 10 and about 10 wt % of an aliphatic triol(s) or polyols having hydroxyl functionality greater than 3, and D) between about 30 and about 50 wt % of an aliphatic diisocyanate, the aliphatic diisocyanate being provided in an amount to provide an NCO/OH ratio of between about 1.5 and about 2, the curative having an NCO content of between about 5 and about 10 wt. % and an NCO equivalent weight of between about 400 and about 1200.

    摘要: The subject of the present invention is to provide a water-borne resin composition having excellent hydrophilicity, that is, water reducibility or water dispersibility, can decrease the amount of organic solvent contained in a coating, has excellent curability, water resistance, flexibility, heat resistance, hardeness which are equivalent to those of solvent-borne amino resin, and which can decrease discharges in a dryer, and a water-borne coating comprised thereof. The above problem can be solved by a water-borne resin composition comprising:amino resin (A) obtained from amino compound (a) comprising at least one carboxyl group in a phenyl group of benzoguanamine, the amino compound (a) represented by chemical formula 1 andwater-borne resin (B) having a functional group reactive with the amino resin (A), and water-borne coating comprising the water-borne resin composition as an essential component. ##STR1##

    摘要: There is provided a method of preparing a thermoplastic starch and synthetic polymer blend, said method comprising the steps of: (a) providing a starch suspension comprising starch, water and a plasticizer, preferably glycerol; (b) obtaining a thermoplastic starch from the starch suspension by causing gelatinization and plasticization of said starch suspension by exerting heat and pressure on said starch suspension in a first extrusion unit; (c) evaporating and venting off residual water from said thermoplastic starch to obtain a substantially moisture-free thermoplastic starch; (d) obtaining a melt of a synthetic polymer or polymer blend in a second extrusion unit; and (e) combining the melt obtained from step (d) with the substantially moisture-free thermoplastic starch. Also provided are compositions of matter comprising immiscible blends of thermoplastic starches, polymers, and compatibilizers.

    摘要: Improved Stein-Hall type adhesives having an uncooked slurry portion and a cooked carrier portion wherein the carrier portion is produced by cooking a slurry of a starch having substantial amylopectin content, at an alkaline pH, in the presence of an amount of hydrogen peroxide sufficient to lower the viscosity of the cooked carrier to that of conventional Stein-Hall carriers, viz., so that when added to the secondary slurry, the viscosity of the finished adhesive will be about 40 to 50 seconds (Stein-Hall) at 100.degree.-105.degree. F., and in the presence of a catalyst effective to reduce the cooking time required to reach that viscosity to about 15 minutes or less.

    摘要: Disclosed is a pharmaceutical composition for treating hypercholesterolemia. The pharmaceutical composition includes a polysaccharide-polyamine copolymer and a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof as active ingredients. The polysaccharide-polyamine copolymer is formed by copolymerization of the following two parts: a selectively oxidized polysaccharide with 2,3-dialdehyde, and a polyamine with an amino functional group; the polyamine with an amino functional group and the selectively oxidized polysaccharide with 2,3-dialdehyde can form a net structure by means of covalent crosslinking, resulting in a hydrogel with an amino functional group or a granular polysaccharide-polyamine copolymer, wherein the amino functional group in the hydrogel with an amino functional group or the granular polysaccharide-polyamine copolymer can be protonated so as to form a cationic copolymer of a three-dimensional network structure having a protonated site, and the nitrogen content of the cationic copolymer and the nitrogen content of the polysaccharide-polyamine copolymer are above 12.3 wt %, and both the cationic copolymer and the polysaccharide-polyamine copolymer are water-insoluble.
