Abstract: A dispersion includes a hyperbranched polymer having latent crosslinking functionality and comprising the reaction product of: a partially neutralized, acid-functional resin; and an epoxy; and optionally, an effective amount of a crosslinking agent; wherein: the partially neutralized, acid-functional resin comprises the reaction product of a mixture of: a first acid-functional resin with a base and a second acid-functional resin; or a first and a second acid-functional resin with a base; the first acid-functional resin is not the same as the second acid-functional resin; at least one of the acid functional resins comprises a further functional group capable of Schiff-Base crosslinking after film formation; and the dispersion is a single pack waterborne polymer dispersion.

Abstract: The present invention is related to the use of ethylene alkanoate-alkyl acrylate bipolymers with a high randomness monomers distribution, which are synthesized by semicontinuous emulsion polymerization process, characterized because it is carried out using slow addition rate of the pre-emulsion feeding ({dot over (q)}≤0.009 kg·L−1·min−1), stabilized this last one by alkyl glycol ether type surfactants, at temperatures higher than 75° C. and with solids contents above 25 wt %, which avoids the formation of large sequences (blocks) of a same monomer. This structural characteristic gives the ethylene alkanoate-alkyl acrylate bipolymers a high efficiency as chemical agents for removal of complex water/crude oil emulsions of crude oil blends.

Abstract: The sequential infiltration synthesis (SIS) of group 13 indium and gallium oxides (In2O3 and Ga2O3) into polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) thin films is demonstrated. Examples highlight the an SIS process using trimethylindium (TMIn) and trimethylgallium (TMGa), respectively, with water. In situ Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy reveals that these metal alkyl precursors reversibly associate with the carbonyl groups of PMMA in analogy to trimethylaluminum (TMAl), however with significantly lower affinity. SIS with TMIn and water enables the growth of In2O3 at 80° C., well below the onset temperature of atomic layer deposition (ALD) using these precursors.
