    摘要: The invention pertains to water-dissipatable polymers comprising lipophilic polymers having pendant sulfonic acid salt groups and, optionally, pendant nonionic groups, methods of making such water-dissipatable polymers and the use of such polymers in aqueous systems, including aqueous coating compositions. The invention also pertains to addition polymer polyols having such pendant sulfonic acid salt groups and, optionally, pendant nonionic groups, their methods of manufacture and their use in aqueous systems, including aqueous coating compositions. The polymers of the invention may be used as, for example, binders, emulsifying agents and dispersing agents in aqueous systems, especially aqueous coating compositions.

    摘要: An object of the present invention is to provide a water-borne urethane resin composition for forming a microporous layer, which is suited for use in a fibrous material substrate, especially an artificial leather, and which has well-defined heat-sensitive coagulation properties and is capable of being uniformly filled into a fibrous material substrate without causing migration, forming a micrporous layer after drying and imparting a feel equivalent to that obtained in a solvent-based urethane resin composition, i.e., an elastic and genuine feel, by impregnating or coating the fibrous material substrate with the water-borne urethane resin composition; a method of producing a fibrous sheet-like composite using the water-borne urethane resin composition; and an artificial leather obtained by the method. The water-borne urethane resin composition of the present invention comprises (1) a water-borne urethane resin having a heat-sensitive coagulation temperature of 40 to 90° C. and (2) an associated type thickener. In the method of producing a fibrous sheet-like composite according to the present invention, (i) a fibrous material substrate is impregnated or coated with (ii) the water-borne resin composition and then (iii) heat-sensitive coagulation is performed using steam.

    摘要: Disclosed are modified latexes having improved drying speed, comprising a polymer having one or more pendant side chains, such side chain comprising the product of the reaction between a mono- or poly-functional group capable of reacting with an acid or hydroxyl unit, and such units present on the precursor polymer. Such modified latexes are storage-stable one-pack compositions useful alone or in combination in coating applications, or as adhesives, sizing agents, composites, impregnants, castings, caulks, and non-woven binders. Also disclosed is a method for providing a crosslinked protective coating on a substrate, comprising the steps of: applying a coating of the composition of the present invention to the substrate; and allowing the composition to cure at ambient temperature or greater, or applying radiation to the composition to effect curing.
