Abstract: A suspension for preserving masonry structures comprises a hydrophobic agent, water-repellent nanoparticles, a nanofiller, a self-cleaning agent, a vegetable oil, a first solvent and water. The water-repellent nanoparticles, the hydrophobic agent, the nanofiller, the self-cleaning agent and the vegetable oil are mixed with the first solvent and water, and are dispersed in a form of a nanocomposite suspension. A method for preserving masonry structures, especially surfaces of historical building materials as a substrate by using a multi-functional nanocomposite suspension, to increase the structures' life, improving weather-resistance and/or water-repellent and/or stain-resistance and/or fungal-resistance and/or self-cleaning. The suspension is prepared by mixing a water-repellent nanoparticles, at least one silicon-based hydrophobic polymer as a hydrophobic agent, a nanofiller, and/or a nano-additive as a self-cleaning agent, a vegetable oil, a first solvent and water. An ultrasonic homogenizer is used to disperse the nanoparticles onto the nanocomposite suspension consisting of nanoparticles.

Abstract: Described herein is a mixer system for producing aqueous coating materials from at least one aqueous pigment paste A, including at least one color pigment, and at least one pigment-free component B, including an aqueous, acrylate-based microgel dispersion having a glass transition temperature Tg of 50 to 60° C., where both the aqueous pigment paste A and the component B each have a VOC value of less than or equal to 250 g/L. Further described herein is a method for producing aqueous coating materials having a VOC content of 0 to 250 g/L, in which the individual components A and B are stored separately and not mixed until shortly before application, to give the aqueous coating material. Further described herein is a method of using the mixer system for producing aqueous coating materials for refinishing and/or for coating automobile bodies and/or plastics parts.

Abstract: An anti-icing coating having a continuous phase and a discrete phase. The continuous phase includes a fluorine-containing polymer formed from a fluorine-containing precursor having a functionality of greater than 2. The discrete phase includes a plurality of domains having a fluorine-free hygroscopic and/or hydrophilic material. The plurality of domains are dispersed within the continuous phase and are immersible with the continuous phase. At least a portion of the fluorine-free material is bonded to the fluorine-containing polymer with an isocyanate-containing moiety. The fluorine-containing polymer is crosslinked with a crosslinking molecule having at least 4 functional groups. The fluorine-free material is a poly(ethylene glycol).

When step a) provides a polymer, the polymer is optionally used to support emulsion polymerization of one or more unsaturated monomers in the presence of an initiator to provide a water-dispersible or water-dispersed further polymer.
