摘要: The present invention aims to provide a UV-curable composition having excellent printability, excellent UV reactivity in the presence of oxygen, and excellent adhesiveness at room temperature and high temperature. Provided is a UV-curable composition containing: a curing component containing a (meth)acrylate monomer and a crosslinking component; and a UV curing agent, the (meth)acrylate monomer including, in 100% by weight of the curing component, 50 to 85% by weight of a monomer that, in a form of a homopolymer, has a glass transition temperature of −70° C. to −30° C., a cured product being obtained by applying the composition to a substrate at a thickness of 150 μm and irradiating the composition, without sealing an upper surface of the applied composition, with UV light having a wavelength of 315 nm to 480 nm at an irradiance of 90 mW/cm2 and a dose of 1,350 mJ/cm2 in an atmospheric environment, the cured product having a gel fraction of 0.4 to 78%, a glass transition temperature of −35° C. to 10° C., a reaction percentage of 83% or higher, and a reaction progress percentage on a surface facing the atmosphere of 93% or higher relative to a surface facing the substrate.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to a curable precursor of an adhesive composition, the curable precursor comprising: (a) a radically (co) polymerizable (meth)acrylate-based component comprising (i) C1-C32 (meth)acrylic acid ester monomers; and (ii) an ethylenically unsaturated acidic compound; (b) a crosslinker for the (meth)acrylate-based component, which comprises at least one acid-functional group derived from phosphoric acid and at least one radically (co)polymerizable reactive group; and (c) a nitroxide wherein the C1-C32 (meth)acrylic acid ester monomers (a)(i) do not comprise functional groups other than the (meth)acrylic acid ester groups, and wherein the ethylenically unsaturated acidic compound (a)(ii) does not comprise an acid-functional group derived from phosphoric acid. The present disclosure further relates to a process for making a cured composition from said curable precursor and to the use of said curable precursor for adhesive applications and/or for thermal management applications in the automotive industry.

摘要: An article comprising a first component having a first electrically conductive surface and a second component having a second surface. An adhesive composition comprising a cured polymerizable ionic liquid is disposed between the first electrically conductive surface and second surface and joins the first component to the second component. The polymerizable ionic liquid comprises an acid functional monomer and the conjugate acid of an imidazole compound. The effort required to separate the first component from the second component, as measured by work of adhesion per surface area, is reduced by application of a DC electric potential across the adhesive composition.

摘要: The present invention is an oil-resistant adhesive composition including a hydroxy alkyl (meth)acrylate having an alkyl group containing 2 to 4 carbons, a short alkyl (meth)acrylate having an alkyl group containing 6 or less carbons, and a photo-initiator. After the adhesive composition is soaked in oleic acid at room temperature for 7 days, the adhesive composition has an expansion percent of less than about 10%.

摘要: A polymerizable composition includes at least one monomer, a photoinitiator capable of initiating polymerization of the monomer when exposed to light, and a phosphor capable of producing light when exposed to radiation (typically X-rays). The material is particularly suitable for bonding components at ambient temperature in situations where the bond joint is not accessible to an external light source. An associated method includes: placing a polymerizable adhesive composition, including a photoinitiator and energy converting material, such as a down-converting phosphor, in contact with at least two components to be bonded to form an assembly; and, irradiating the assembly with radiation at a first wavelength, capable of conversion (down-conversion by the phosphor) to a second wavelength capable of activating the photoinitiator, to prepare items such as inkjet cartridges, wafer-to-wafer assemblies, semiconductors, integrated circuits, and the like.

A readily polymerizable composition includes a component comprises a chain-transfer functionality that can induce the formation of branches upon polymerization of the composition. The method enables in-situ polymerization and surface-initiated polymerization useful for rapid adhesive material formation on surfaces such as biological tissue.
