Abstract: Methods for assessing the effectiveness of an acid stimulation operation in a hydrocarbon well are described herein. The methods use encapsulated tracer particles comprising a tracer material that is coated with a calcium carbonate shell. Different encapsulated tracer particles are placed into different portions of a well. A subsequent acid stimulation operation dissolves the calcium carbonate shell and releases the tracer material. The different tracer materials indicate the effectiveness of the acid stimulation operation in different portions of the well.

Abstract: A foamed composition includes a base fluid, a graphene particle, one or more surfactants, a gas, and an inorganic acid. The foamed composition has a foam quality in a range from 50 to 90 vol/vol % at a temperature in a range from 120° C. to 165° C. A method of stimulating a hydrocarbon-bearing formation includes introducing the foaming composition into the hydrocarbon-bearing formation under a pressure greater than fracturing pressure of the hydrocarbon-bearing formation to generate fractures in the hydrocarbon-bearing formation and generating a foam from the foaming composition inside the hydrocarbon-bearing formation using a gas. The foam has a half-life of 130 to 260 min at 200° F.

Abstract: A composition for fracturing a wellbore may include a reacting fluid. The reacting fluid includes an encapsulated breaker, sodium nitrite, and an ammonium-comprising compound. The sodium nitrite and the ammonium-comprising compound undergo an exothermic reaction producing heat operable to release the encapsulated breaker, releasing the breaker that then reduces viscosity in the polymer-comprising fluid. A method for fracturing a wellbore may include injecting into a fractured wellbore a fluid comprising an ammonium-comprising compound and a fluid comprising sodium nitrite. The fractured wellbore has been fractured with a fracturing fluid comprising an encapsulated breaker. Sodium nitrite and the ammonium-comprising compound undergo an exothermic chemical reaction that generates heat to release the encapsulated breaker.

Abstract: Accordingly, this disclosure describes systems, compositions, and methods that may use pelletized diverting agent particulates for diversion, fluid loss control, and/or other subterranean treatments for controlling fluid flow in subterranean formations. In an embodiment, a method comprising: introducing a treatment fluid into a wellbore penetrating a subterranean formation wherein the treatment fluid comprises: a base fluid; a pelletized diverting agent comprising a degradable polymer, wherein the pelletized diverting agent at least partially plugs a zone in the subterranean formation; and diverting at least a portion of the treatment fluid and/or a subsequently introduced fluid away from the zone. In an embodiment, a treatment fluid comprising: a base fluid; and a pelletized diverting agent comprising a degradable polymer.
