Abstract: The invention comprises methods of catalytically pyrolyzing plastics. Since it has been discovered that plastics provide insufficient coke to provide adequate heat during catalyst regeneration, heat-forming additives can be introduced into the methods. Systems and compositions useful in the catalytic pyrolysis of plastics are also described.

Abstract: A method for pyrolysis of polycarbonate-containing material in order to recover raw materials is provided. The method comprises at least the following steps: (a) introducing material intended for the pyrolysis, at least comprising material that contains a mixture of a polycarbonate-containing compound and a polystyrene-containing compound, into a reactor; (b) decomposing, at a temperature of 300° C. to 700° C., at least the material intended for pyrolysis introduced into the reactor in step (a) and obtaining a product that is present in the gaseous phase as the pyrolysate and of pyrolysis residues that are present in a non-gaseous phase; and (c) cooling the removed pyrolysate to a temperature of less than 300° C. while obtaining a pyrolysis product, selected from pyrolysis condensate, pyrolysis sublimate or a mixture thereof.

Abstract: A heat integration process and system for a chemical recycling facility is provided that can lower the carbon footprint and global warming potential of the facility. More particularly, one or more heat transfer media may be used to recover heat energy from a waste plastic pyrolysis effluent and redistribute the recovered heat energy throughout the chemical recycling facility. Furthermore, a staged condensation configuration may be utilized to produce multiple pyrolysis oil streams and to provide heat to the heat transfer media. Thus, the global warming potential of the chemical recycling facility may be optimized and lowered due to the heat integration process and system herein.

Abstract: A waste plastic oilification reduction system includes: a main condensation process unit including a main condensing section that has a main condensation tank to which decomposition gas in a main pyrolysis process unit is supplied and a cooling section that cools the main condensation tank, and is configured to condense the decomposition gas to produce recycled oil; a sub-pyrolysis process unit having a sub-pyrolysis tank to which a residual gas component remaining in the main condensation tank is supplied and a heating section that heats the sub-pyrolysis tank, and being configured to heat the residual gas component to produce re-decomposition gas; and a sub-condensation process unit including a sub-condensing section that has a sub-condensation tank to which the re-decomposition gas produced by the sub-pyrolysis process unit is supplied and a cooling section that cools the sub-condensation tank, and is configured to condense the re-decomposition gas to produce the recycled oil.

Abstract: A method and associated system for producing refined hydrocarbons from waste plastics. The method and system provide for pretreating waste plastics; producing a pyrolysis gas by introducing the waste plastics pretreated in the pretreatment process into a pyrolysis reactor; producing a pyrolysis oil by introducing the pyrolysis gas into a hot filter; dehydrating a first mixed solution, obtained by mixing the produced pyrolysis oil with washing water and a demulsifier, by applying a voltage to the first mixed solution; hydrotreating a second mixed solution obtained by mixing the dehydrated first mixed solution with a sulfur source to produce a refined pyrolysis oil from which impurities are removed; and isomerizing the refined pyrolysis oil, wherein a liquid condensed in the hot filter is re-introduced into the pyrolysis reactor. The system produces refined hydrocarbons from waste plastics.
