Abstract: Provided are methods of hydro-dealkylation of hydrocarbon feedstock to produce an intermediate hydrocarbon product having a boiling point at T10 of greater than about 500° F.+ by distillation method ASTM D7169 and a viscosity index greater than about 120 in accordance with ASTM D2270 where at least about 50 percent of the hydrocarbon feedstock is a SIMDIS of 400° F. The intermediate hydrocarbon product can be used to produce a base stock, a wax and/or paraffinic diesel.

Abstract: A multi-stage process for the production of a Product Heavy Marine Fuel Oil compliant with ISO 8217: 2017 as a Table 2 residual marine fuel from a high sulfur Feedstock Heavy Marine Fuel Oil compliant with ISO 8217: 2017 as a Table 2 residual marine fuel except for the sulfur level, involving hydrotreating under reactive distillation conditions in a Reaction System composed of one or more reaction vessels. The reactive distillation conditions allow more than 75% by mass of the Process Mixture to exit the bottom of the reaction vessel as Product Heavy Marine Fuel Oil. The Product Heavy Marine Fuel Oil has a maximum sulfur content (ISO 14596 or ISO 8754) less than 0.5 mass %. A process plant for conducting the process for conducting the process is disclosed.

Abstract: An integrated facility to produce either renewable diesel fuel or sustainable aviation fuel, or both renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel from carbon dioxide including carbon dioxide that is a byproduct of reacting Hydroprocessed Esters and Fatty Acids (HEFA) and hydrogen that produces renewable fuels. HEFA is hydroprocessed to produce a liquid fuel product and may produce water, CO and water, or CO2. Integrated with an eFuels process that produces the hydrogen that is needed in various steps of the integrated process. Renewable or low carbon electricity is used to convert water to hydrogen and oxygen in an electrolyzer. Carbon dioxide is reacted with at least a portion of the hydrogen to produce a stream comprising carbon monoxide with a carbon dioxide conversion per pass of between 50% to 100%, preferably between 60% and 100%, and more preferably between 70% and 100%.

Abstract: A multi-stage process for transforming a high sulfur ISO 8217 compliant Feedstock Heavy Marine Fuel Oil involving a core desulfurizing process that produces a Product Heavy Marine Fuel Oil that can be used as a feedstock for subsequent refinery process such as anode grade coking, needle coking and fluid catalytic cracking. The Product Heavy Marine Fuel Oil exhibits multiple properties desirable as a feedstock for those processes including a sulfur level has a maximum sulfur content (ISO 14596 or ISO 8754) between the range of 0.05 mass % to 1.0 mass. A process plant for conducting the process is also disclosed.

Abstract: Provided are an apparatus and a method for refining pyrolysis oil in which a dechlorination reaction is performed under a first hydrotreating catalyst. Hydrogen chloride as a by-product is removed, and then a denitrification reaction is performed under a second hydrotreating catalyst, thereby preventing production of an ammonium salt (NH4Cl), and providing refined oil. It is excellent in prevention of corrosion of a reactor, improvement of durability, occurrence of differential pressure, process efficiency, has very low contents of impurities such as chlorine, nitrogen, and metal and olefin, and has excellent quality.

Abstract: Described herein are novel and inventive dewaxing processes that employ dewaxing catalysts which are co-extrusions of two different zeolites, particularly two different 10MR zeolites or a co-extrusion of a 10MR zeolite and a 12MR zeolite in combination with a hydrogenation component. The hydrogenation component can be a mixture of non-noble metal components or a mixture of noble metal components. This novel and inventive process demonstrated a significant activity boost (as measured by increased cloud point reduction) and/or selectivity boost (as measured by reduced diesel loss) compared to either single zeolite component.

Abstract: A process for reducing the environmental contaminants in a ISO 8217 compliant Feedstock Heavy Marine Fuel Oil, the process involving: mixing a quantity of the Feedstock Heavy Marine Fuel Oil with a quantity of Activating Gas mixture to give a feedstock mixture; contacting the feedstock mixture with one or more catalysts to form a Process Mixture from the feedstock mixture; separating the Product Heavy Marine Fuel Oil liquid components of the Process Mixture from the gaseous components and by-product hydrocarbon components of the Process Mixture and, discharging the Product Heavy Marine Fuel Oil. The Product Heavy Marine Fuel Oil is compliant with ISO 8217 for residual marine fuel oils and has a sulfur level has a maximum sulfur content (ISO 14596 or ISO 8754) between the range of 0.05 % wt. to 0.5 % wt.. The Product Heavy Marine Fuel Oil can be used as or as a blending stock for an ISO 8217 compliant, IMO MARPOL Annex VI (revised) compliant low sulfur or ultralow sulfur heavy marine fuel oil. A device for conducting the process is also disclosed.
