Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a method for producing refined hydrocarbons from waste plastics, the method including: a pretreatment process of pretreating waste plastics; a pyrolysis process of producing pyrolysis gas by introducing the waste plastics pretreated in the pretreatment process into a pyrolysis reactor; a lightening process of producing pyrolysis oil by introducing the pyrolysis gas into a hot filter; and a distillation process of distilling the pyrolysis oil to obtain refined hydrocarbons, wherein a liquid condensed in the hot filter is re-introduced into the pyrolysis reactor, and a system for producing refined hydrocarbons from waste plastics.

Abstract: A multi-stage process for the production of a Product Heavy Marine Fuel Oil compliant with ISO 8217:2017 as a Table 2 residual marine fuel from a high sulfur Feedstock Heavy Marine Fuel Oil compliant with ISO 8217:2017 as a Table 2 residual marine fuel except for the sulfur level, involving hydrotreating under reactive distillation conditions in a Reaction System composed of one or more reaction vessels. The reactive distillation conditions allow more than 75% by mass of the Process Mixture to exit the bottom of the reaction vessel as Product Heavy Marine Fuel Oil. The Product Heavy Marine Fuel Oil has a maximum sulfur content (ISO 14596 or ISO 8754) less than 0.5 mass %. A process plant for conducting the process for conducting the process is disclosed.

Abstract: A process and a system are used for production of multiple grades of ultralow aromatic solvents/chemicals having preferred boiling range, flash point and viscosity from different hydrocarbon streams. A plurality of hydrotreating steps are used to hydrotreat a plurality of hydrocarbon feedstocks in the presence of a hydrogen gas stream and a catalyst system. Further, at least one dissolved gas stripping step, at least one adsorption step, and a distillation step are included in the process. Desired iso-paraffin molecules are thereby preserved, and the undesired aromatic molecules are converted into desired naphthene molecules.

Abstract: A process for re-refining used lubricating oil (ULO), much of which is used motor oil (UMO) relies on more rapid heating, turbulent flows, higher peak temperatures, to achieve rapid thermal cracking, even including metal-bearing additives without catalysts, compared to conventional refining of crude oil and conventional recycling processing of UMO. By thermally cracking this way and scrubbing with recycled, processed liquids from the flow stream, a process readily removes metal-bearing hydrocarbons in typical lubricating oil additives. Those bonded metals consigned to heavy fraction “bottoms,” are commonly non-removable by other recycling schemes. Long chain polymers including paraffins are broken into lighter hydrocarbons with properties typical of fuels containing olefins, naphthenes, and the like. Data and analysis reveal low solids, effective metal removal, comparatively low viscosity and boiling points, and greatly reduced sulfur content in fuel and oil products resulting.

Abstract: Method of producing a fuel oil comprising pyrolysis products from waste plastics includes conducting pyrolysis of a plastic feedstock to produce plastic pyrolysis oil; feeding the plastic pyrolysis oil to a first fractionator to separate the plastic pyrolysis oil into a distillate fraction and a topped pyrolysis product fraction split at a boiling point in the range of 80° C. to 250° C.; and feeding the topped pyrolysis product fraction along with other hydrocarbon streams to a fuel oil blending unit to generate a fuel oil product stream. An associated system for preparing a fuel oil comprising pyrolysis products from waste plastics is also provided.

Abstract: An emergency distillation column (2) is disclosed, connected to a plant wherein a main distillation column (1) is present. Such connection occurs by means of by-pass of the pipes which supply said main column, which by-pass has stopping means of the liquid which allow the supply of said emergency column when the pressure drops downstream of the main column exceed a preset threshold value. Preferably, said stopping means are shut-off valves (28; 33; 35).
A process of use of a column (2) is furthermore described as in any one of the preceding claims wherein the pressure difference between inflow and outflow of the liquid being distilled is measured continuously and compared against a dedicated threshold.
Finally, a plant for the regeneration of waste oils is disclosed, comprising a distillation column, which furthermore comprises an emergency distillation column (2), as previously defined.-

Abstract: A method is taught for maintaining a fluid within a tank. In this method an upper data acquisition device is operated which is capable of obtaining at least one characteristic of the fluid in a tank adjacent to the upper data acquisition device. A lower data acquisition device is also operated which is situated below the upper data acquisition device, capable of obtaining at least one characteristic of the fluid in the tank adjacent to the lower data acquisition device. A data analyzer is then utilized which is capable transmitting a data packet to the intermittent mixer. The method then automatically turns on the intermittent mixer from the data received from the data packet. Afterwards, the method automatically turns off the intermittent mixer from the data received from the data packet resulting in the at least one characteristic from the upper data acquisition device is within specifications of the at least one characteristic from the lower data acquisition device. In this method the intermittent mixer is capable of altering the fluid within the tank so that the at least one characteristic is consistent throughout the tank.
