摘要: Fuel composition comprising: (i) a base fuel suitable for use in an internal combustion engine; and (ii) a blend of a first monoalkyl alkenyl succinate and a second monoalkyl alkenyl succinate wherein the first monoalkyl alkenyl succinate and the second monoalkyl alkenyl succinate each have the formula (I) or (II) below, or are an isomeric mixture of formula (I) and (II) below: where R is a linear or branched alkenyl group containing from 4 to 30 carbon atoms, and R1 is a linear or branched C1 to C8 alkyl group; and wherein the first monoalkyl alkenyl succinate is different from the second monoalkyl alkenyl succinate. The fuel compositions of the present invention have been found to provide a synergistic reduction in engine wear.

摘要: A fuel for an internal combustion engine includes a C5 to C30 dialkoxyalkanoate corresponding to formula (I):
wherein the R1 group is —H or a —CH3 group, the R2 and R2′ groups are alkyl groups independently selected to have 1 to 9 carbon atoms; and the R3 group is selected to have 1 to 9 carbon atoms. The compounds described herein may be used as neat fuels or mixed fuels (with diesel, biodiesel, jet fuel, marine fuel or other fuel compounds) in autoignition or spark ignition engines, such as diesel engines, gasoline (spark ignition) engines, MCCI, Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition (HCCI) engines, or more generally in Low-Temperature Gasoline Combustion (LTGC) engines (using gasoline-like fuels), that have the high-efficiency advantages of HCCI but can operate with some level of charge inhomogeneities. Methods of making these compounds are environmentally friendly and can be done in a continuous manner.-

摘要: This invention relates to cleaning the induction systems, the combustion chambers and exhaust systems of internal combustion engines. And, more particularly, to chemicals and mixtures of chemicals for removing the different types of carbon deposits encountered in internal combustion engines used in “road vehicles”. Carbon deposits were taken from the induction systems of these road vehicles for the purpose of bench testing such carbon and product development. More specifically, chemicals (i.e., solvents) and chemical mixes (i.e., solutions) have been accurately tested on such harvested carbon deposits for their ability to remove the various types of carbon deposits that accumulate within road vehicle internal combustion engines. Additionally this invention also relates to apparatus for delivering chemicals and chemical mixes. Which includes those developed by applicant, as well as those prior art products marketed for carbon removal, to the induction system of vehicles to maximize the effectiveness of the chemical delivery.

摘要: The method for producing biodiesel from microalgae using a thermo-responsive switchable solvent includes mixing a thermo-responsive switchable solvent (TSS) in a hydrophilic state with microalgae at room temperature (25° C.); maintaining the TSS-microalgae mixture in the hydrophilic state for a cell disruption time period; raising the temperature of the TSS-microalgae mixture to switch the TSS solvent to a hydrophobic state; maintaining the TSS solvent in the hydrophobic state in the presence of immobilized lipase catalyst and methanol for an extraction/reaction time period to obtain fatty acid methyl esters (FAMEs) as the oils are extracted; lowering the temperature of the TSS-microalgae mixture to switch the TSS solvent back to the hydrophilic state; and maintaining the TSS solvent in the hydrophilic state for a product separation time period. The method may further include extracting the FAMEs from the TSS-microalgae mixture with a nonpolar organic solvent to obtain the biodiesel product.
