Abstract: This invention relates to a diesel engine lubricating oil composition comprising or resulting from the admixing of: (i) base oil, (ii) a functionalized polymer, (iii) an overbased magnesium based detergent, and (iv) one or more, optionally borated, higher and/or lower molecular weight PIBSA-PAM dispersant. The composition has a total sulfated ash of less than or equal to 0.9 wt. %, a kinematic viscosity at 100° C. of 5 to 20 cSt, a total phosphorous level of less than or equal to 0.120 wt. %, and a total sulfur level of less than or equal to 0.35 wt. % and provides a Detroit DD-13 scuffing test result of at least 31 hours. Also provided are a method of making the composition, a method of lubricating a diesel engine, a method of improving wear performance and engine cleanliness and reducing emissions of a diesel engine, and a diesel engine oil additive concentrate composition.

Abstract: Traction fluid additive combination that is usable with any traction fluids base stock is provided. To optimize the traction, low temperature viscosity and shear stability performance, a combination of a polyisobutene and a polymethacrylate may be added to a base oil to obtain a traction fluid with good low temperature viscosity without degrading the shear strength properties of the fluid. To minimize foaming of the traction fluid, a combination of one, two, or more anti-foaming agents may be added to the fluid in addition to a standard additive package.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a lubricating oil composition which has a viscosity much lower than that of a conventional lubricating oil composition, and which is excellent in metal fatigue life, wear resistance and electrical insulating properties. The lubricating oil composition according to the present disclosure comprises: (A) a lubricating base oil; and (B) from 0.6 to 4.0% by weight, based on the total weight of the lubricating oil composition, of a polydiene having a number average molecular weight of from 500 to 3,000 and containing a functional group on at least one end thereof. The above described lubricating oil composition does not comprise a viscosity index improver, and has a kinematic viscosity at 100° C. of not less than 1 and less than 5 mm2/s.

Abstract: A lubricating oil composition with enhanced deposit control capability is disclosed for engines operating under sustained high load conditions, such as natural gas engines and low-speed or medium-speed diesel engines. The composition comprises (a) a first base oil component selected from a Group I base stock, a Group II base stock, a Group III base stock, or a combination thereof, each having a kinematic viscosity at 100° C. of from 8.5 to 15 mm2/s; and (b) a second base oil component selected from a Group I base stock, a Group II base stock, a Group III base stock, or a combination thereof, each having a kinematic viscosity at 100° C. of from 4.0 to less than 8.5 mm2/s; wherein the weight ratio of the first base oil component to the second base oil component is in a range of from 1:10 to 1:1.15.

Abstract: A lubricant composition is disclosed that is suitable for direct fuel injected, crankcase-scavenged two-stroke cycle engines. That lubricant composition has a major amount of at least one oil of lubricating viscosity, a minor amount of a lubricity additive, a polyalkyl amide, an imidazoline, a polyisobutylene, and a functionalized polyisobutylene. The lubricity additive contains glycerol monooleate, an acid aliphatic aromatic amine-phosphate, and sodium sulfonate. The acid aliphatic aromatic amine-phosphate has a phosphorus/oxygen atom ratio of from 4.0:1 to 4.5:1, and at least 1.2 equivalents of acid to 1.0 equivalents of base.
