摘要: Protein-rich nutrient supplements and animal feed supplements derived from an anaerobic bacterial process are generated through a myriad of cell rupturing and protein fractionation/purification processes. Bacterial fermentation systems and methods of obtaining one or more protein-containing portions from a fermentation process using carbon monoxide-containing gaseous substrates are provided. The invention further provides compositions of protein-rich nutrient supplements with useful applications for intake by a variety of different animals and humans.

摘要: What is described is an integrated steel mill and a bioreactor configured to produce useful products from the waste stream of the steel mill. A waste gas stack which is connected to the steel mill is connected to a heat exchanger to cool the waste gas from the steel mill. The cooled gas is pressurized using a pressurization apparatus connected to the heat exchanger. The pressurized gas is sent to an oxygen removal apparatus connected to the pressurization apparatus. An oxygen depleted waste stream from the oxygen removal apparatus is passed to a bioreactor (connected to the oxygen removal apparatus) where microorganisms ferment the waste stream to products. Optional apparatus such as scrubbers, valves, buffers, are also disclosed. The products of the fermentation in the bioreactor can be ethanol and or acetate.

摘要: The invention provides a genetically modified micro-organism for intracellular biosynthesis of a cellular metabolite, comprising a synthetic error correction system having a penalty gene, whose expression leads to arrested growth or cell death (e.g. a toxin gene) in combination with a survival gene, whose expression provides an antidote that restores cell viability and normal growth (e.g. a cognate antitoxin gene). Alternatively, the system has a survival gene, alone, whose expression is essential for growth (i.e. essential gene). The synthetic error correction system further comprises a biosensor, whose function is to induce expression of the survival gene which leads to cell growth, only, when the cell produces a pre-defined level of a given metabolite. The invention further encompasses: a method for producing the genetically modified micro-organism; a method for producing a cellular metabolite with the genetically modified micro-organism; and use of the genetically modified micro-organism for producing a cellular metabolite.

摘要: The manufacturing method of high-efficiency plant composite type bacteriostatic deodorant based on HQ22 bean extract includes pretreating the leaves of certain beans and certain plants in the early stage, which are then respectively processed into powder by a pulverizer; uniformly mixing the two powders according to a certain mass ratio, which are then treated with inoculation process with a certain inoculation amount of Bacillus natto seed solution; carrying out fermentation treatment on that mixture to obtain dark brown fermentation liquor; separating and purifying the fermentation liquor to obtain active components of the high-efficiency bacteriostatic deodorant; mixing the active ingredient with a certain proportion of surfactant, buffer, solvent and flavoring agent; and then obtaining high-efficiency plant composite type bacteriostatic deodorant based on HQ22 bean extract was prepared. The method has the advantage of high-efficiency of deodorization and bacteriostasis.

摘要: A method for the preparation of bioactive compound by culturing a Bacillus species containing 16S rRNA having nucleotide sequence that is at least 80% identical to the nucleic acid sequence of the 16S rRNA of B. endophyticus DS43 of SEQ ID NO: 1. Tryptone soya broth (TSB) is an effective growth medium for the production of the bioactive compound. A growth medium used in the method contains date syrup and/or molasses. The isolated fluorescent bioactive compound has biocidal activity against bacteria including Serratia marcescens, Staphylococcus aureus, and Escherichia coli.
