摘要: The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of intermediates useful in the synthesis of epothilone analogs by initially enzymatically degrading certain epothilone compounds to form ring-open structures containing a carboxyl group which is esterified, the hydroxyl groups on the moiety protected and the resulting compound oxidized by, e.g. ozone, to form a first intermediate. The first intermediate can be reacted with a triphenylphosphine adduct to yield a compound containing an ester group at position 1 which is subsequently hydrolyzed to form a second intermediate.

摘要: A lipolytic enzyme such as lipase is adsorbed on a porous anion-exchange resin carrier to obtain an immobilized enzyme without drying. The un-dried immobilized enzyme is contacted with a fat or oil for a time which may be about 2 hours to about 24 hours to stabilize the immobilized enzyme, and the immobilized enzyme is recovered from the fat or oil. The recovered immobilized enzyme is then used for esterifying or hydrolyzing a substrate. Water content of the un-dried immobilized enzyme may be 20% or more be weight such as 20-60%. Prior to immobilization, the resin carrier may be treated with a lypophylic aliphatic acid which preferably has 8 to 18 carbons.

摘要: A method for producing at least one metal salt of a fatty acid is disclosed. The process first obtains from animal rumen, ruminal fluid containing at least one fatty acid. Next, at least one metal oxide is added to the ruminal fluid. One metal salt of a fatty acid is formed from the addition of these two components. Lastly, the process involves recovering at least some of the at least one metal salt of a fatty acid. The ruminal fluid also contains enzymes which are isolated in the process.

摘要: A process for preparing a material B comprising geometrical isomers L1 and L2 of conjugated linoleic acid moieties in a specific weight ratio of XB wherein a material A selected from free fatty acids, mono-, di- or tri-glycerides, phospholipids, alkyl esters or wax-esters containing at least 5 weight % of L1 and L2 are subjected to enzymatic conversion using an enzyme that can discriminate between L1 and L2 so that the original weight ratio of L1 to L2 of XA in the starting material is increased to XB where XB is equal to or greater than 1.1 XA. Advantageously, the isomers L1 and L2 are cis9, trans11 and trans10, cis12 linoleic acid or vice versa. The enzyme is advantageously a lipase obtained from Geotrichum candidum or Candida rugosa or a phospholipase. The starting material A may be, for example, a fish oil or vegetable oil. The resulting products may be blended with a complementary fat and may be used as foods or food supplements or in pharmaceutical compositions.

摘要: This invention provides a particulate material suitable for use as a nutritional supplement, particularly as an aquaculture feed. The particulate material has a high proportion of DHA residues in the lipid fraction, which may be up to 35% of the material, or even more. Preferably, the material has a mean particle size of from about 5 microns to about 10 microns. This invention also provides a method for preparing a particulate material suitable for use as an aquaculture feed from microbial biomass, preferably from algal cells having a high content of DHA residues, by obtaining a lipid fraction from the biomass, preferably by solvent extraction of broken cells, followed by separating a fraction containing phospholipids and proteins from the lipid fraction, and removing water from the protein/phospholipid fraction to form a low moisture particulate, preferably by spray-drying the protein/phospholipid fraction.
