Abstract: Methods of targeting a CD38-expressing cell for treatment of at least one disease, disorder or condition that is associated with CD38. Polypeptides specifically binding to CD38 which are therefore suitable for the diagnosis and for the therapeutic and prophylactic treatment of diseases which are characterized by increased CD38 expression. Conjugates and pharmaceutical compositions comprising the polypeptides are disclosed as well. Use of such polypeptides in methods for the detection of CD38 and/or CD38-expressing cells in a biological sample. A process for the purification and concentration of CD38 and/or CD38-expressing cells in which the antigen-binding polypeptides are used are also described.

Systems and methods of the invention are provided for measuring an amount of target by forming a plurality of fluid partitions, a subset of which include the target, performing an enzyme-catalyzed reaction in the subset, and detecting the number of partitions in the sunset. Abstract: A microfluidic pH-stat with a specially-is designed slide and portable device can be used for point-of-care enzyme diagnostics. The slide includes a microchamber and a substrate for the enzyme being tested. The substrate is homogenized with the sample in the microchamber to form a test volume. The microchamber includes a working microelectrode that injects current to split water in the test volume to generate hydrogen ions and/or hydroxide ions and a micro-pH-electrode to measure a pH of the test volume; the slide also includes a reference microelectrode. The device includes a processor to adjust the injected current based on the pH of the test volume and determine an activity of the enzyme based on an amount the injected current is adjusted.

Abstract: Examples herein provide a device. The device includes a sample delivery component, which includes: a reagent chamber to contain at least one reagent; a sample chamber to contain a fluid sample; and a delivery channel extending from the reagent chamber and in fluid communication with the sample chamber and an output port, wherein the delivery channel is conducive mixing the at least one reagent and the fluid sample to form a mixture before the mixture reaches the output port and be discharged therefrom. The device includes a testing cassette detachable from the delivery component, which includes: an input port in fluid communication with a microfluidic reservoir, the input port to receive the discharged fluid sample from the output port; and a micro-fabricated integrated sensor in a microfluidic channel extending from the microfluidic reservoir.
