摘要: Methods for the recovery of metal ions from an aqueous metal-chelator solution are disclosed. In some embodiments, a method includes dissociating a metal ion from a chelating agent to form a free chelating agent and then precipitating or removing the free chelating agent, wherein at least some of the metal ions remain in an acid solution for further processing. For example, the metal ions can be used in other applications, such as in medical applications and industrial applications.

摘要: Overburden from surface coal mining in many regions can produce a rain runoff laden with selenium, in the selenate form, as well as rare earth elements (REEs). This occurs from rainwater leaching through exposed selenium/mineral-containing rocks in the overburden. The mineral-containing runoff water is caught in ponds, or deep mine water is collected from pools. Alternatively, leachate can be collected from coal gob or refuse piles, or from a final cut lake resulting from a coal strip mining operation. Extraction of REEs, as well as remediation of deleterious substances such as selenium, is performed by treatment with sulfur-modified iron (SMI) in a contact bed of an upflow reactor vessel. After a period of use of the SMI, the spent SMI is subjected to a recovery process for REEs.

摘要: Disclosed is a method for clean metallurgy of molybdenum, including steps: 1) roasting molybdenite with calcium to obtain calcified molybdenum calcine, and leaching the calcified molybdenum calcine with an inorganic acid to obtain a molybdenum-containing inorganic acid leachate; 2) extracting molybdenum in the leachate with a cationic extractant to obtain an organic phase loaded with molybdyl cations and a raffinate; 3) using a hydrogen peroxide solution as a stripping agent to obtain a molybdenum stripping liquor; and 4) heating the molybdenum stripping liquor to dissociate peroxymolybdic acid therein so as to form a molybdic acid precipitate, and then calcining to obtain a molybdenum trioxide product. The method solves the problem of ammonia nitrogen wastewater production and can also be used for the enrichment and recovery of rhenium.

The mixture is maintained at a pH of 0.25 to 4 for a period of time, resulting in a liquor and a leached mixture. The liquor is removed from the leached mixture to form a dewatered cake. The dewatered cake is washed to form a washing liquid. The washing liquid is recycled to create a second slurry comprising organically bound rare earth elements.

The method may further comprise determining a percentage of compacted material based on the material that is compacted and irrigated divided by the material that is irrigated; and further adjusting at least one of the leaching operations or the leaching model based on the percentage of compacted material.

摘要: The present invention relates to a method for selectively precipitating and extracting gold in aqueous solution by niacin. Aqueous Au3+ is precipitated selectively as it's complex from gold containing acidic mixtures by biomolecule niacin, with the formula [AuCl4]−[2Niacin+H]+. After precipitation, the complex is separated from impurities by filtration. Recovered complex is reduced by using a reductant like sodium metabisulfite (Na2S2O5) to recover gold metal. The method is highly cost-effective, sustainable and recovers about 96.5% of gold in 2 minutes from an electronic waste composed of Au. Cu and Ni. The method is also employed to extract gold from nanomaterials waste generated in laboratories.
