摘要: A method including sublimating or distilling an ytterbium composition from an initial solid composition comprising ytterbium and lutetium in an inert or reduced pressure environment and at a first average temperature for a first sublimation/distillation period to leave a lutetium composition comprising a higher weight percentage of lutetium than was present in the initial solid composition, collecting the ytterbium composition; retaining the ytterbium composition for a waiting period to form a decayed ytterbium composition, wherein the waiting period is longer than the first sublimation/distillation period; and subsequent to the waiting period, sublimating or distilling a refined ytterbium composition from the decayed ytterbium composition in an inert or reduced pressure environment and at a second average temperature for a second sublimation/distillation period to leave a waste composition.

摘要: Valuable metal compounds and a useful by-product are recovered, with high yield, from lithium-ion battery waste, without otherwise generating effluent. One or more metal sulfate solution may be used to scrub the metals from organic extractants. The sulfates may be produced in one or more evaporation/crystallization units downstream from precipitation and dissolution units. An organic extractant may be used to extract a metal of interest and other metals from feed material, scrub the other metals from the organic extractant, strip the metal of interest from the organic extractant, and recycle the extractant. An evaporation/crystallization unit may be used to output the metal of interest, while a return line transports a metal sulfate mother liquor from the evaporation/crystallization unit (after hydroxide precipitation and dissolution for purification) for use in scrubbing the other metals from the organic extractant after pH and metal concentration adjustment.

摘要: The extraction system contains secondary amides and alkyl alcohols which are separately used as the extractants for extracting lithium and boron and consist of a single compound or a mixture of two or more compounds, and the total number of carbon atoms in their molecules are 12˜18 and 8˜20 respectively; the extraction system has a freezing point less than 0° C. With a volume ratio of an organic phase and a brine phase being 1˜10:1, at a brine density of 1.25˜1.38 g/cm3, at a brine pH value of 0˜7 and at a temperature of 0˜50° C., a single-stage or multi-stage countercurrent extraction and a stripping are conducted to obtain a water phase with a low magnesium-lithium ratio, which is subjected to concentration, impurity removal and preparation to get lithium chloride, lithium carbonate, lithium hydroxide and boric acid respectively. Water is used for stripping, greatly reducing the consumption of acid and base.

摘要: The present invention relates to a method for the recovery of palladium from an aqueous solution, comprising the steps of: (A) providing a dispersion comprising an aqueous dispersing phase comprising palladium(II), at least one non-ionic surfactant and at least one compound bearing a beta-dithiocarbonyl group, so as to form a hydrophobic complex of palladium(II) with the compound bearing a beta-dithiocarbonyl group; (B) heating the dispersion resulting from step (A) to a temperature at least equal to its cloud point so as to obtain the phase separation between the aqueous dispersing phase and a dispersed phase rich in surfactant comprising at least a part of said hydrophobic complex; (C) separating the dispersed phase rich in surfactant from the aqueous dispersing phase resulting from step (B); and (D) recovering the hydrophobic complex of palladium(II) with the compound bearing a beta-dithiocarbonyl group.
