A method of manufacturing a brake disk includes preparing a disk formed of gray cast iron, performing heat treatment of the disk to form a pre-decarburized layer and a base layer of gray cast iron over which the pre-decarburized layer is formed, and nitriding a portion of the pre-decarburized layer to form a nitride compound layer including a nitride and a decarburized layer over which the nitride compound layer is formed.

摘要： One aspect of the disclosure provides an iron-based hardfacing layer which includes hard or wear resistant phases resulting at least in part from dissolution of silicon and/or boron carbide particles into a liquid iron-based metal during the fabrication process. In an embodiment, the hardfacing layer is formed by a fusion welding process in which carbide particles are added to the molten weld pool. In an example, the filler metal supplied to the welding process is a mild steel. In an embodiment, the hardness as measured at the surface of the hardfacing ranges from 40 to 65 HRC. In an example, the iron-based hardfacing layer also includes tungsten carbide particles.

摘要： A centrifugally cast, hot-rolling composite roll comprising an outer layer formed by a centrifugal casting method, and an inner layer made of ductile cast iron and integrally fused to the outer layer; the outer layer having a chemical composition comprising by mass 1.6-3% of C, 0.3-2.5% of Si, 0.3-2.5% of Mn, 0.1-5% of Ni, 2.8-7% of Cr, 1.8-6% of Mo, 3.3-6.5% of V, and 0.02-0.12% of B (or 0.01-0.12% of B, and 0.05-02% of S), the balance being Fe and inevitable impurities, and meeting the relation expressed by Cr/(Mo+0.5W)≧−2/3[C−0.2(V+1.19Nb)]+11/6, wherein W=0, and Nb=0, when W and Nb are not contained, and containing by area 1-15% of MC carbide, 0.5-20% of carboboride, and 1-25% of Cr-based carbide.

摘要： Apparatus is provided for inductively heat treating a circular surface of annular workpieces where at least one inductor pair is used to perform a scan induction heat treatment of the circular surface. Controlled movement of the inductors and application of quenchant is provided particularly at the initial and final heat treatment locations on the circular surface to enhance metallurgical uniformity of the annular workpiece at these locations. In combination with controlled movement of the inductors, a simultaneous power-frequency control scheme can be applied to the inductors during the heat treatment process with the apparatus.

摘要： The disclosure relates to a process for producing a hardened and tempered component made of specially heat-treated cast iron (e.g., AGI). According to the disclosure, a main body made of cast iron is prepared which may already be in the shape of an engine block. The main body may then be subjected to pre-machining, which may include forming one or more bores. Then, the main body may be hardened and tempered by a suitable heat treatment, such as a special heat treatment. After the disclosed heat treatment, post-processing of the component may follow, such as establishing the final dimensions.

The invention also relates to a method for manufacturing a moulded foundry piece made of metal or a metal alloy, which includes pouring metal into at least one body (mould and/or core) thus produced; and to a foundry piece thus manufactured.
