Abstract:
Provided is a method of producing a long bagworm silk thread, the method comprising a spinning process of making a bagworm having its nest hang its legs on a rail and continuously spin a silk thread along the rail, wherein the rail has a width smaller than the maximum width between the left and right legs when the bagworm used spreads out its legs and wherein the rail is such that the bagworm can hang its legs on the rail, and a collection process of collecting a long silk thread from the rail after the spinning process.
Abstract:
An object of the present invention is to develop: a method of efficiently producing a long bagworm silk thread containing no contaminant while preventing a change in the spinning direction and the runaway of the bagworm from a rail, and alleviating a burden on the bagworm; and an apparatus for implementing the thread-producing method. Provided is an apparatus for producing a bagworm silk thread, having a movable rail having a width smaller than the maximum width between the right and left legs of a bagworm and configured to move in the longitudinal direction and to be able to hold with the legs of the bagworm; and a fixator configured to fix a bagworm, wherein the fixator is placed at a position such that the fixed bagworm can hold the movable rail.
Abstract:
There are provided a recombinant silk protein derived from sea anemones, a method for producing the same, and a composition for preparing a silk fiber including same. The recombinant silk protein derived from sea anemones has sequence features similar to genetic information of a silk protein derived from spiders and silkworms. Also, a large amount of recombinant silk protein derived from sea anemones may be produced from a transformant and it has good physical properties such as strength and elasticity. Therefore, the recombinant silk protein derived from sea anemones can be usefully applied in various industrial fields in which natural silk protein can be applied, and it is expected to create new industrial fields based on its distinctive mechanical properties.
Abstract:
Described is a method for producing a colored silk filament by having a colorant solution absorbed through the spiracles of each silkworm larva and then allowing the larva to secrete the colored silk filament through the spinneret thereof. In this method, a solution of a polymer-linked dyestuff is employed as the colorant solution.

The present disclosure provides improved long uniform recombinant protein fibers with desirable physical traits. The present disclosure also provides compositions derived from the long uniform recombinant protein fibers.
Abstract:
Method to separate polypropylene in the processing of silk schappe, whereby a lap (14) of silk fibers which are partly combed or are at least made sufficiently parallel undergoes an action of heating between 110.degree. C. and 160.degree. C. together with a simultaneous action of controlled compression so as to form clusters of polypropylene and silk fibers and thereafter an action of combing or pre-combing for the definitive removal of those clusters of polypropylene and silk fibers.Device to separate polypropylene in the processing of silk schappe, which is positioned downstream of a drawing frame (13) or analogous machine producing a lap (14) of silk fibers, the device including a conveyor means (belt/drum) cooperating with means that heat and apply adjustable pressure to the lap (14).
