摘要： A sewing machine acquires a selected pattern that is selected from among a plurality of embroidery patterns. The sewing machine displays a pattern image representing the selected pattern. The sewing machine identifies a specified position indicated by the instruction. The sewing machine determines, when the selected pattern is acquired a plurality of times, whether one of a plurality of the pattern images is displayed at the identified specified position. When it is determined that the pattern image is displayed at the identified specified position, the sewing machine identifies the selected pattern for which the pattern image is displayed at the specified position as the editing target. When it is not determined that the pattern image is displayed at the identified specified position, the sewing machine identifies the selected pattern for which a mask region encompassing the selected pattern is set at the specified position as the editing target.

摘要： A sewing machine of the invention stores width dimensions and the reference needle penetration position dimensions, which all can be changed for writing and reading, according to the type of presser foot, in a memory. Based on the needle penetration position and the reference needle penetration position which are determined when the seam allowance width is set, the sewing machine calculates a distance between the left or right end of the presser foot and the position where stitches are made, and shows it on the display as the seam allowance width. Therefore, sewing can be made regarding the distance from the left or right end of the presser foot to the place where stitching is made as a seam allowance width, just by aligning the edge of the work cloth with the left or right end of the presser foot.

When a floppy disk exclusively for language changing, which stores display data developed for a plurality of other languages, such as Japanese, German, and French, is inserted into a floppy disk drive, and a language key, such as the Japanese language key, is pressed, the display data in Japanese only is read from the floppy disk, information currently stored in the flash memory is deleted, and then the read display data in Japanese is written into the flash memory. Therefore, according to the invention, the flash memory has a capacity enough to store display data for only one language, and can rewrite the language data of the display data to a desired language, which permits miniaturization of the flash memory and cost reduction.

摘要： The present invention provides an improved method and computer program product for quilting and embroidering fabric. The method comprises securing a quilt sandwich of top layer fabric, batting and backing fabric in an embroidery hoop and attaching said embroidery hoop to an embroidery machine. The user retrieves a digitized embroidery file that is fed into the embroidery machine. The digitized file instructs the embroidery machine to stitch the quilt layers together according to a predetermined stippling pattern and to stitch an outline for an appliqué. After an appliqué fabric is placed over the outline, the digitized file sews a tackdown stitch, after which appliqué enhancements or additional layers of appliqué may also be stitched. The quilt is then removed from the embroidery hoop and the appliqué and quilt are trimmed.

摘要： The present invention provides a method and system for using a wireless transmission between an embroidery machine and a source system to update stitch data in a memory card. A command to update the stitch data in the memory card is received. Once it is determined that the memory card is not currently in use, the memory card is logically disconnected from the embroidery machine. The new stitch data is then transferred from a source system to the memory card via a wireless connection, and the contents of the memory card are updated with the new stitch data. The memory card is then logically reconnected to the embroidery machine and the new stitch data is ready to be used by the embroidery machine.

It comprises at least a memory for storing sewing data consisting of the encoded stitch data in group in regard to the stitches the needle sewing positions of which change regularly and the read out time data which instructs the reading out of the encoded stitch data by the number of times equal to the number of stitches encoded in group. This composition is effective not only in reducing the capacity required for storing stitch data but also shortening the time required to process the stitch data.
