The formation of stitches by the sewing machine is controlled by detected changes in position of the detection device relative to the reference surface in connection with a predetermined stitch length setting and starting speed, set on either the detection device, an adapter or as part of the sewing machine control. The detection device may move together with the article being sewn while the sewing machine and reference surface remain stationary, or the detection device may move with the sewing machine while the article that is being sewn and reference surface remain stationary.

    摘要: This invention comprises a means to control stitch length of household sewing machines when used on free-motion quilting frames. A sensor in the form of a computer mouse or a pair of sensors in the form of optical encoders is used to determine the translational speed of the set of carriages that hold the sewing machine. This information is sent to electronic circuitry that converts this information to an electrical resistance which is applied to the foot pedal control electrical connector on the sewing machine. When thusly applied, this resistance sets the rotational speed of the sewing machine. This invention achieves stitch length uniformity by maintaining the proper relationship between the input signal from the sensor or sensors caused by carriage translation and the output resistance to the sewing machine which controls its rotational speed.

The processing device has a detecting unit for detecting a color state of the pattern of the sheet material and producing a color state signal indicative of the color state. According to the present invention, the processing device is provided with an automatic adjusting unit for adjusting the detecting unit to allow the detecting unit to produce a desired color state signal with respect to a reference color state.     摘要: The invention relates to a sewing machine provided with a needle reciprocated according to rotations of a main shaft and work feeding devices actuated synchronously with rotations of the main shaft, setting a margin to sew from a trailing edge to a sewing end position. The sewing machine includes devices for computing a terminal stitch length according to a set margin width.     摘要: In an actuating mechanism for the hook of portable sewing machines, a hook actuating profiled cam is provided which has a pin for simultaneously actuating the hook and the material transport feed dog through an interposed linkage having an adjustable element. By providing the hook formed with an eye, a double chain stitch seam can be effected. By further providing the cam with a depression for accommodating a foot of the hook therein during an oscillation of the foot, a greatly reduced overall size becomes achievable. Thanks to the adjustable element it also becomes possible to change the stitch length.
