A first reinforcement member may be coupled to the lower surface. The second slot may extend into the second reinforcement member. The cover may be configured to be lifted by the first slot and the second slot.

    摘要: A system for use with a manhole vault having an internal atmosphere, and, optionally, with a ventilation stack connecting the vault to an external atmosphere. The system includes a manhole cover, a ventilation pipe, and an air moving assembly. The cover has one or more through-holes extending between top and bottom surfaces. Each of the through-hole(s) is in fluid communication with the external atmosphere at the top surface. The pipe has a through-channel that extends between first and second openings. The first opening is positioned proximal to either an opening into the ventilation stack or at least one of the through-hole(s) at the bottom surface of the cover. The second opening is positioned in the interior of the vault. The device is configured to cause a portion of one of the interior and external atmospheres to flow through the through-channel toward a different one of the interior and external atmospheres.

    摘要: A manhole position identification method of the present invention includes: measuring, from an end of an optical fiber, a temporal variation in scattering light from the optical fiber when an impact blow is applied to a cover of a manhole located on a path of the optical fiber, so as to obtain temporal variations in a scattering light intensity distribution in a longitudinal direction of the optical fiber; determining an occurrence of vibration due to the impact blow based on the temporal variations at positions in the scattering light intensity distribution, so as to identify an impact blow position on the optical fiber; and associating the impact blow position on the optical fiber with a map position of the manhole whose cover has received the impact blow, so as to identify a position of the manhole expressed in terms of optical fiber length from the end.

    摘要: A passive radio repeater is built into a cover for a pit, in order to relay radio signals between a base station and a wireless communications device such as a water meter at the bottom of the pit. Within the external surface of the lid are provided upper and lower patch antennas. The lower antenna has a radiation pattern that extends downwards at right-angles to the plane of the lid, so that it communicates with the device at the bottom of the pit. The top antenna has a directional beam pattern in the elevation plane, achieved by exciting the top antenna in a mode that is higher than fundamental. The two antennas are coupled by a stripline printed circuit board provided with feeds to generate the required beam patterns.

    摘要: An integrated access box for providing surface access to a curb box or other structure, and tracer wires in a single unit. The integrated access box generally includes a body having a first end and a second end and a first chamber (e.g., a curb box chamber or cleanout chamber) extending into the first end toward the second end of the body. The body may be substantially cylindrical in shape, and may include a first opening near the first end of the body and a first chamber access opening in the first chamber near the top of the body, and a tracer wire chamber extending into the body. The tracer wire chamber includes a second opening near the first end of the body. The integrated access box may further include a tracer wire access opening in the tracer wire chamber near the top of the body.
