Abstract:
A fitting for an excavating apparatus can include a cylindrical pipe that can include a first metal material. In an example, the fitting can be configured for coupling to a hose. The pipe can include an interior surface and an exterior surface. Optionally, a perimeter of the pipe does not exceed a diameter of a first end of the pipe. The fitting can include a cladding layer (e.g., a second metal material) that can be coupled to the first metal material within the interior surface of the pipe. The cladding layer can include an abrasion-resistant material. The cladding layer can be coupled to the pipe such as with a welding operation. The cladding layer can include one or more ridges. The cladding layer can corrugate the interior surface of the fitting and exterior surfaces of the fitting which can come into contact with abrasive material.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a dredged soil transport system including a pipe module wound with a coil applying an electromagnetic field to an internally flowing dredged soil and including a plurality of pipelines, a pump module configured to provide a transport pressure for transport of dredged soil to the pipe module, database stored with flow information on flow velocity and flow form in response to physical properties of liquefied unit, and a control module communicating with the pipe module, the pump module and the database wiredly and wirelessly and applying, to the coil, a current of waveform matching to a flow waveform of the dredged soil transported inside the pipeline, and a control method thereof.
Abstract:
a mining dredge lift station having an elevatable hopper, wherein the hopper has an air opening and a dredge inlet, and where the hopper is in material communication with a tapered feed, to direct a material flow into a lift feed, wherein the lift feed connected in material communication to the tapered feed. The lift feed is curved from a lift feed opening with a generally downward orientation to a lift feed accelerated outlet with a generally upward direction of flow. A high-pressure hose attachment is connected to the lift feed at the outer radius of the curve, to orient a line-of-flow upward in the direction of the desired elevation for the mining material.

Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for deep sea mining including: generating an upward flow of valuable matter in a riser line from the bottom of a body of water to a matter processing platform; processing the matter at the processing platform; generating a return flow in a return pipe of a mixture of seawater and a non-valuable part of the matter from the processing platform towards the bottom of the body of water; and controlling the pressure in the return pipe for avoiding collapse of the return pipe and/or cavitation of the return pipe, in particular for avoiding collapse of or cavitation in an upper part of the return pipe.
Abstract:
A device for removing sea bed includes a conveying line at least partially surrounded by sea water and an emergency emptying device arranged in the conveying line. The conveying line is configured to have a sea bed be removed therethrough so that a removed sea bed is transportable to a surface in a conveying direction. The emergency emptying device is configured so that the removed sea bed moving in a direction counter to the conveying direction in the conveying line is dischargeable from the conveying line into the sea water.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a device for dumping material onto an underwater bottom or installation, such as a pipeline. The device comprises a vessel, provided with a fall pipe through which the material is dumped on the underwater bottom; a steering device adapted to control the motion of the fall pipe relative to the underwater bottom; first monitoring means adapted to monitor the state of the underwater bottom; second monitoring means adapted to monitor the position of the steering device; and computing means adapted to compute, control signals for moving the steering device. The invention also relates to a method for dumping material onto an underwater bottom or installation.
Abstract:
A floatable heavy duty hose assembly for conveying fluid entrained materials during dredging and related operations which includes a flexible cylindrical conduit which is reinforced at spaced intervals and wherein a plurality of floats are mounted in surrounding relationship with the conduit at the areas of reinforcement to thereby provide evenly distributed areas of flotation intermediate spaced areas of flexibility with the overall structure permitting the hose assembly to be handled and maneuvered in a uniform manner without undue interference by the floats.
Abstract:
A mobile pipe conveyor system which is capable of bending smoothly and freely both in horizontal and vertical within a certain range to be moved and/or laid in zigzag without dropping transported materials in contrast to the conventional flat-belt conveyor, and a method for reclaiming and leveling grounds utilizing said mobile pipe conveyor system arranged between a swiveling conveyor and a base point inside or outside of a land to be reclaimed, the entire pipe conveyor system together with the swiveling conveyor being pulled by one or more bulldozers and easily moved about the base point without adjusting l/e zigzag movement and/or laying, so that reclaiming and leveling works on a large scale can be completed in a short time.
Abstract:
Dredge head and method of using the same in which the solids of the interface between the consolidated soil and the water source are released as a slurry into the atmosphere adjacent the swath cut by the dredge head to deposit the solids remote from the swath.
