摘要： A swimming pool cover assembly is provided which can easily be installed and removed, and which is adapted to be supported above the surface of the pool without bulky reinforcing or structural members. The swimming pool cover assembly includes an air impervious cover member having dimensions greater than the dimensions of the pool so as to span the pool, an anchor assembly disposed about the perimeter of the pool for securing the cover member over the pool and forming fluid-tight seal therebetween, and a blower assembly for supplying a sufficient volume of air so that a cushion of air is formed between the cover member and the water in the pool for maintaining the cover member in an elevated positioned relative to the surface of the water in the pool.

摘要： An automatic rim flow water level control system for gutters is provided, for use in swimming pools, which includes a peripheral gutter having at least one weir chamber on its pool side wall, the wall having a plurality of vertically extending elongated water entrance slots communicating with the pool weir chamber, a plurality of vertical elongated water exit slots through the top rim of the gutter wall opposite to the pool side water entrance slots, a plurality of elongated water exit slots through the weir chamber wall below the top rim slots, an elongated float carried in the weir chamber, which float is responsive to the water level in the pool, to permit water to flow through the slots into the gutter for skimming, and into the weir chamber for float positioning and water skimming control, the weir chamber bottom wall having orifices to provide for controlled leakage of water out of the chamber into the gutter, from which it is removed, filtered and returned to the pool.

摘要： A reel system for winding swimming pool covers thereabout is constructed from a hub having an opening for receiving one end of a spool to be attached thereto. The hub includes a bushing and a wheel for rotating the hub about its longitudinal axis. A support stand having a bearing is arranged for rotationally supporting the hub about the bushing. Ultraviolet exposure and contamination by chemical and dirt is prevented in the area of the bushing and bearing by a cover arranged for engagement with the hub between a first and second position. The first position is such that the cover is at least coextensive with the bushing and bearing to prevent their exposure while the second position being remote from the bushing and bearing to allow disassembling of the reel system.

摘要： A wheel assembly for use with extendible and retractable swimming pool covers having a raised leading edge. The apparatus of the present invention preferably comprises two rigid arms which each have a wheel attached to one end thereof. The other end of the arms are rotatably connected to an expandable plug which is adapted to fit into one end of the horizontal leading edge carrier member of the pool cover. A bolt passes through a washer, through an axial bore in the expandable plug, and through holes in the ends of both arms so as to connect all of the component parts together. A wing nut is then tightened onto the end of the bolt, thereby causing the expandable plug to expand within the leading edge carrier member. The wheel assembly is thus secured to the end of the carrier member, with the arms being prevented from further rotation after installation.

摘要： The disclosure is of a buoyant, air-filled, plastic cover for swimming pools, large ponds, and the like, and to facilities by which these may be constrained to float on the water (or other liquid) without proneness to disarrangement, especially in the regions of skimmers formed in the sides of the pool.There is disclosed a pool cover subdivided into interfitting sub-sections, preferably of a rectangular shape. These are provided with coacting marginal abutments which interengage to prevent one cover section from overriding another. These abutments are in some cases of sufficient specific gravity to sink the edge portions of the cover sections somewhat deeper in the water than the remainder of the cover, which is airfilled, and of low specific gravity. Abutting, or interengaging edge elements are disclosed which mechanically engage in a confining manner, preventing overriding. The edge abutments, in one form of the invention, comprise two blocks, or strips, of a closed cell plastic foam, fastened one above and one below the margin of the cover, each of a specific gravity of approximately 0.5 to 0.6. These tend toward a stabilized position, with the upper floating essentially with the upper block above the water level and the lower below the water level.
