The hammer includes a tubular main body, a back head, a cylindrical piston housing, a reciprocating piston and a space between the piston. The piston housing is divided by an annular pressurizing portion into first and second space portions for elevating and striking the piston. First communication channels from a hollow portion of the piston into a second space between the piston and the main body discharge fluid between the piston and the main body. A method for drilling a hole using the fluid operated drilling device is also disclosed.

    摘要: A hydraulic hammer may include a power cell adapted to reciprocally drive a piston along an axis. The piston may, in turn, drive a hammer tool having a first end juxtaposed against the piston for accommodating cyclic impacts by the piston. While the first end of the hammer tool may be contained within a housing, the other end may extend from the housing for impacting rock, for example. The power cell and housing are axially secured together by a plurality of tie rods and nuts secured to ends of the tie rods, and the housing may include exterior pockets for accommodating the nuts. Each nut may have a circular exterior surface, and each nut pocket may have a generally elliptical interior surface, such that the exterior surface of each nut may be configured to engage at least two spaced apart areas of a corresponding interior surface of each nut pocket.

    摘要: A hand-driven receiving bracket for galvanized or steel pipe used with yard fences, gateposts, pet pens, and the like comprises a round galvanized pipe and three (3) downwardly directed triangular steel plates. The bracket is then driven into the ground such that the top of the pipe is flush with the ground surface. After driving, the receiver bracket is ready for fence posts, gateposts, and other ground style devices. A plate device that sits atop the bracket and can be driven with a large sledgehammer provides a large flat surface that is suitable for impact and spreads such impact over the entire bracket, thus preventing damage. Alternately, a sliding hammer that slides upon a tall steel pipe which connects to the top of the bracket is used to drive the bracket into the ground and comprises a twist lock mechanism that engages the bracket and spreads the impact to prevent damage. When driven flush, it also is removed and replaced with a permanent fence or gateposts.

    摘要: A down-the-hole percussive drill comprises a casing, a drill bit mounted at a lower end of the casing, a hollow feed tube fixed within the casing and extending along a center axis thereof, and a piston mounted for axial reciprocation within the casing for transmitting impacts to the drill bit. The upper portion forms a downwardly facing surface at the junction between the upper and lower portions. Passages for conducting lubricant-containing pressurized air are formed in the piston. At least one of those passages constitutes a vertical recess formed in the outer periphery of the piston. The piston includes a radially outwardly projecting rib disposed between upper and lower ends of the recess. Air is blocked from traveling past the rib until the rib becomes located opposite an annular groove formed in an inner surface of the casing.

    摘要: A soundproofing device for a drill which has an elongate shaft extending between a bit and a forged collar for attaching it to a pneumatic hammer comprises a sheath formed by a semi-rigid tube of plastics material adapted to surround the shaft without touching it. This sheath extends between sealed first mounting ring near the bit and second mounting ring near the hammer. These mounting ring are free to move relative to the shaft in rotation and in translation. Tests show a reduction in the noise level 5 m from the drill from 102 dBA to 89 dBA.

    摘要: A method for damping the movement of the hammer piston of a hammer mechanism and for catching the hammer piston in a forward end position when the drill tool is situated outside the operating range of the hammer piston is disclosed. During the return stroke of the hammer piston gas is driven from one chamber to another chamber through a slot. When the hammer piston exceeds its normal range of operation gas is driven through the slot in the other direction and also through a channel in the machine housing so that a weaker damping is obtained than during the return stroke. A hammer mechanism to be operated according to the above method is also disclosed.
