    摘要: A variety of systems and methods are disclosed for cleaning a wellbore ahead of a well tool. The well tool is deployed on a tubular conveyance to a depth into a well. An interior surface of the well is wiped ahead of the well tool to dislodge debris from the interior surface of the well as the tubular conveyance advances downhole. The debris is filtered ahead of the well tool as the tubular conveyance advances downhole to keep the filtered debris away from the well tool. The well tool may then be used to perform a tool function when the tubular conveyance has reached the depth, without being affected by the filtered debris.

    摘要: A well tool for removing metal debris from a well bore has a magnet element, an anti-torque anchor, a debris removal unit, a debris container and a first connecting end for a rotatable well string. The magnet element has a cylinder-shaped housing. The removal unit has a helix-shaped longitudinal guide element arranged on the housing. The anchor is connected to the housing or the guide element such that actuation of the anchor during use will prevent rotation of the housing or the guide element, respectively, relative the well-bore. The container has an opening at the end of the housing. The housing and the guide element are rotatable relative each other, and configured such that metal debris accumulating on the housing during use is guided by the guide element towards the opening of the container when the anchor is actuated and the first connecting end is rotated.

    摘要: A method of removing a target fish from a wellbore includes preparing a fishing assembly having a magnetized pipe coupled to an end of a work string. The fishing assembly is run into the wellbore, and the magnetized pipe is positioned at an effective position in which a threaded end of the target fish is aligned with a threaded end of the magnetized pipe by magnetic attraction between the magnetized pipe and the target fish. A threaded connection is made up between the threaded end of the target fish and the threaded end of the magnetized pipe. The fishing assembly with the attached target fish is then retrieved from the wellbore to a surface location.

    摘要: A rheological lock apparatus includes a fluid chamber formed within a housing between a pair of seals. The fluid chamber contains a rheological fluid. An inner surface of the housing has a first plurality of splines projecting into the fluid chamber and extending longitudinally along a longitudinal dimension of the chamber. A driveshaft extends axially through the chamber such that the pair of seals are sealed against the driveshaft. The driveshaft includes a second plurality of splines. A field generator is coupled to one of the driveshaft or the housing to generate a field through the rheological fluid during times when the housing is substantially immobile in a borehole.

    摘要: Apparatus and methods for penetrating a downhole target within a wellbore include providing a body with a longitudinal axis, a first end, and a second end into a wellbore, the body having a nozzle at the first end. The nozzle is adapted to project a medium in a direction generally parallel to the longitudinal axis to affect a downhole target. An actuator in communication with the medium is usable to initiate the apparatus. The nozzle can be provided with a geometry configured for projecting the medium in a pattern that separates the downhole target into at least two portions. The medium can include a ferromagnetic material that becomes associated with the downhole target to facilitate recovery of the target or portions thereof using a retrieval device having a magnetic element.

    摘要: An impact apparatus conveyable in a tool string within a wellbore comprises a mandrel, a first impact feature, and a latch pin retainer encircling an end of the mandrel. A release sleeve encircles a portion of the latch pin retainer and includes a radial recess. Latch pins retained by the latch pin retainer are slidable into and out of the radial recess, and prevent disengagement of the mandrel end from the latch pin retainer when not extending into the radial recess. A release member electromagnetically causes relative translation of the latch pin retainer and the release sleeve, including aligning the latch pins with the radial recess and thereby permitting the disengagement. A second impact feature is positioned to impact the first impact feature in response to the disengagement when the impact apparatus is under tension.
