    摘要: A system or method for a structural mine roof support includes a roof support apparatus that includes a cylindrical cladding defining a hollow interior, a plurality of bamboo sections disposed in the hollow interior and coaxial with an axis of the cylinder. Also, a roof support apparatus with a cylindrical cladding defining a hollow interior, a plurality of bamboo sections disposed in the hollow interior and coaxial with an axis of the cylinder, and voids between adjacent bamboo sections, the voids being injected with a filler material, e.g., polyurethane foam, to maintain axial positioning of the bamboo sections when under load. The support apparatus configured to load and to yield in a predetermined fashion to control a mine roof from sudden failure.

    摘要: A grout fillable prop has an inner member and an outer member adapted for movement between an extended use position and a retracted position. A grout inlet is formed in an upper part of a sidewall of the outer member to allow grout to pass into the prop. The inner member and the outer member have wall portions with plastic properties and are self-supporting. An installation fitting is fitted to the grout inlet and adapted to hold a grout filling tool without the use of separate fasteners. A one way valve is fitted to the installation fitting. The one way valve is formed of a length of lay flat hose one end of which is attached to the installation fitting. The hose locates inside the prop when the installation fitting is attached to the prop.

    摘要: A grout pack [1] restraining envelope is provided which includes a plurality of restraining rings [7, 8] shaped to extend circumferentially around a grout bag [2] in a vertically spaced arrangement up at least a part of the height of the grout bag to provide support against lateral deformation of an installed grout pack as it occurs under axial load. At least some of the restraining rings are of differing tensile strengths or are configured to yield at differing tensions. The grout pack may have a collapsible polymer or wire mesh [3] positioned on the inside of the restraining rings to which at least some of the restraining rings are fastened. Restraining rings [7] of relatively higher tensile strength are provided at vertical positions at which relatively greater lateral deformation of the grout bag is expected, and rings [8] of relatively lower tensile strength are provided at vertical positions at which relatively less lateral deformation of the grout bag is expected. The restraining rings may be of the yielding or non-yielding type.

    摘要: A method of producing structural supports for use particularly in mining applications includes the use of a relatively rigid and cylindrical shell casing. The shell casing is separable along the plane parallel to its axis, has open ends and is closed about a fabric tube which is axially supported therein. The fabric tube is filled with pressurized liquid building materials such as concrete. Once filled within the casing, the pressure of the building material forces the liquid component thereof out of the tube laterally and through perforations provided in the shell casing to drain the liquid away from the building material in the tube. The casing and tube are of size such that the remaining building material, which will constitute a pillar, extends completely between the surfaces it is to separate and support. Once the liquid has been drained from the building material within the fabric tube and shell casing, the shell casing can be removed even before the remaining building material is hardened into a pillar reinforced with an outer fabric tube. The shell casing can then be reused for producing additional fabric reinforced pillars.
