    摘要: Positive displacement machines and methods therefor capable of increasing a load-carrying capacity of a piston-cylinder lubrication interface of positive displacement machines having a cylinder block, a cylindrical bore defined in the cylinder block, a piston reciprocably disposed within the cylindrical bore, and a working fluid within the piston-cylinder lubrication interface to provide a load-bearing function between the piston and the bore wall of the cylinder bore. The method includes providing at least one circumferential groove on a bore wall of the cylindrical bore within the piston-cylinder lubrication interface having an opening facing the piston and that is in fluidic communication with the piston-cylinder lubrication interface so as to contain a portion of the working fluid, and operating the positive displacement machine such that the working fluid enters the cylindrical groove and promotes hydrostatic balancing of pressure of the working fluid within the piston-cylinder lubrication interface.

    摘要: A common rail fuel pump includes a cam shaft with at least one cam rotatably supported in a pump housing. A plurality of tappet assemblies are each reciprocatingly movable in the pump housing, and include an axle pin mounted in a tappet, and a roller mounted in contact for rotation about the axle pin. Each end of the roller includes a plurality of non-contiguous planar thrust surfaces separated by lubrication grooves. A lubrication pathway for the roller includes in sequence a lubrication passage that opens to a roller bearing surface, movement along the roller bearing surface into the lubrication grooves, and then between the planar thrust surface of the roller and a counterpart thrust face of the tappet responsive to rotation of the roller on the cam shaft.

    摘要: Methods and apparatus are provided for lubricating a piston-to-shoe interface in a hydraulic motor or pump. Piston assemblies are installed in a housing that are each adapted to receive a reciprocating drive force and are each configured, in response thereto, to cyclically move between an intake direction and a discharge direction. Each piston assembly includes a piston and a piston shoe, and the piston, the piston shoe, or both have a plurality of pockets formed in a surface that defines a piston-to-shoe interface. When the pistons cyclically move, liquid is supplied to each piston-to-shoe interface to form a hydrostatic bearing at each piston-to-shoe interface. A portion of the liquid that is supplied to each piston-to-shoe interface is selectively supplied to and from one or more of the plurality of pockets.

    摘要: A refrigeration compressor includes an internal cooling system. The compressor includes a compressor shell (1), inside of which are disposed a compression cylinder (2, 3), a piston that performs an alternating movement inside the cylinder, an oil accumulation region (5) in the lower part of the compressor shell, and piston drive means having a rotary shaft (4) oriented substantially vertically, with an upper end mounted to a piston drive cam (7). The compressor has a system for collecting the oil coming from the shaft (4), and expelled by the cam (7), in the upper part of the shell (1). This accumulated oil is drained over the compression cylinder (2, 3), so as to cool it, thus increasing the efficiency of the compressor.

The piston is supported on the connecting rod by a universal joint defined by a spherical surface of an integral connecting rod end and an end plate of the piston having a correspondingly configured spherical recess. The connecting rod end is formed with flat surfaces on opposed sides for engagement by releasable securement members which maintain the piston in proper seated position on the connecting rod during normal usage, but which are releasable to permit removal of the piston upon rotation of the connecting rod 90° about its longitudinal axis.
