    摘要: A rotor can comprise a body having arcuate voids each presenting away from a rotation axis and, for each void, a vane. The vane is mounted to the body for pivotal movement between retracted and extended positions; is adapted to sweep the void in the manner in which a piston sweeps a cylinder during movement between the positions; and terminates in a tip. A stator defines the rotation axis; and has an annular surface which, in use, is swept by the tips during rotation of the body. The surface is positioned such that, in each rotation, each vane cycles between its extended and retracted positions. A sealing arrangement defines a pair of ports and, in combination with the rotor and stator, defines, in use, chambers that increase in volume when in communication with one of the ports and that decrease in volume when in communication with the other of the ports.

    摘要: A contactor with a rotary actuation system, the contactor including a plurality of switching devices configured to switch a plurality of electrical circuits, a plurality of cam followers each operably coupled to one of the switching devices, wherein each cam follower is configured to actuate a switching device, and a cam mechanism, the cam pivotally attached to a point rotation, the cam having plurality of lobes about its perimeter, the cam in operable communication with each cam follower such that upon rotation of the cam mechanism, each cam follower engages a lobe of the plurality of lobes, it causes each cam follower to actuate the respective switching device. The contactor also includes an actuator connected to the cam, the actuator responsive to a control current and operable to rotate the cam and a controller, the controller operable to supply a control current the actuator.

    摘要: The invention provides a rotary engine or pump of the type comprising a body with an internal epitrochoidal cross-section chamber and a triangular cross-section rotor rotatable in the body chamber so as to form a plurality of working chambers that vary in volume upon relative rotation of the rotor and the body. A new guidance means for guiding the rotor in the required motion relative to the body comprise a first planar guide surface of essentially triangular shape movable with the rotor and a second planar guide surface movable with the body, the guide surfaces being in relatively-sliding engagement with one another, the said second surface being of oval shape generated by the said first surface in their required relative motion. A seal for use between each rotor apex and the chamber wall comprises two co-operating seal members urged radially outwards by operating fluid of the mechanism.
