摘要: An aircraft system includes, among other things, an aircraft and a gas turbine engine coupled to the aircraft. The gas turbine engine includes a propulsor section including a propulsor, a compressor section, a turbine section including a first turbine and a second turbine, and a gear reduction between the propulsor and the second turbine. The second turbine includes a number of turbine blades in each of a plurality of rows of the second turbine. The second turbine blades operating at least some of the time at a rotational speed. The number of blades and the rotational speed being such that the following formula holds true for a majority of the blade rows of the second turbine: 5500 Hz≤(number of blades×speed)/60 sec≤10000 Hz. The gas turbine engine is rated to produce 15,000 pounds of thrust or more.

摘要: A turboshaft engine for a rotorcraft includes a first spool and an independently rotatable second spool. The first spool includes a low pressure compressor, a first set of variable guide vanes disposed at an entry of the low pressure compressor, and a low pressure turbine drivingly engaged to the low pressure compressor. The second spool includes a high pressure compressor, a second set of variable guide vanes disposed at an entry of the high pressure compressor, the second set of variable guide vanes independently operable relative to the first set of variable guide vanes, and a high pressure turbine drivingly engaged to the high pressure compressor. One or both of the low pressure compressor and the high pressure compressor includes a mixed flow rotor.

摘要: An air cycle machine includes a turbine section, a compressor section, and an axial flux magnetic gear system electromechanically coupling the turbine section to the compressor section. The axial flux magnetic gear system includes a stator, two rotors, a winding system, and a control module. The stator includes stator pole sections and is oriented about a stator axis. Each rotor includes magnets arranged radially about a rotational axis which is aligned with the stator axis. Each rotor interacts with the stator such that the rotor rotates at a rotational speed when the axial flux magnetic gear system is exposed to an electrical current. The winding system stabilizes the position of the rotors along their rotational axes. The control module is configured to supply the electrical current to at least one of the winding system, the stator, and the rotors to drive rotation of the rotors.

摘要: A gas turbine overspeed protection method includes: a power utilization load of a generator is acquired, and a rotating speed value of a gas turbine is acquired; whether the power utilization load suddenly decreases or disappears is judged, and if so, an eddy current retarder is controlled by a controller to simulate the power utilization load to provide a braking torque for the generator; or, whether the rotating speed value exceeds a set speed range is judged, and if so, the gas turbine is controlled by the controller to reduce fuel supply, and a discharge valve of a gas compressor is opened to discharge a high-pressure gas to reduce the power output and the rotating speed of the gas turbine.

摘要: A gas turbine engine includes a high speed turbine and a high speed compressor connected by a high speed shaft to define a high speed spool. A low speed turbine and a low speed compressor are connected by a low speed shaft to define a low speed spool. A high speed tower shaft is driven by the high speed spool and a low speed tower shaft is driven by the low speed spool. The low speed tower shaft drives a low speed input gear in an accessory drive differential. The high speed tower shaft drives a high speed input gear in the accessory drive differential. One of the high speed input gear and the low speed input gear increases an output speed of an output gear, and the other decreases an output speed of the output gear. The output gear drives at least one accessory for the gas turbine engine.
